I also have the tendancy to buy the quick cheap fahions rather than take the time and money to order something of better quality that will fit better, look better and last longer.

I'm also a size 11 shoe (11W to be exact). I understand how hard it is to find quality shoes that are cute, not too expensive, and yet are comfortable.

At least take everything you don't wear out of your closet for now and put it somewhere else. If you don't miss it in 3 months, 6 months, a year, then really get rid of it. Another good test is if you can't remember what's in the bags or whatever/where ever you put the clothes, it's a good sign you didn't really need it or miss it.

I rented 'LA Story'. I'm on a SJP pre-SATC movie kick right now and one line from this movie really resonated with me: "Let your mind go and your body will follow.". I tend to let my head rule my heart, and I think I need to let me mind go more often so my body can follow.

Well, I'm in the minority here. And while I respect the other women's opinions posted here I hope they will also respect mine. I work on the labor & delivery floor of a hospital. Not all hospitals may be the same. We try to accomodate patients' every aspect of their birth plan (wishes for labor, delivery and recovery). I feel that bringing a child into this world is an enormous responsibility, not to be taken lightly. Things can go wrong in a heartbeat - literally! With the advancement of modern medicine in the last 100 years, the last place I would want to give birth is at home! I don't think I could trust the Nurse Midwife enough to admit when things are beyond her comfort level, and that she needs help. And trust is key here! Even in a hospital setting, there are some family practice doctors that I wouldn't trust to delivery my child because I wouldn't trust them to admit things have gotten beyond their skill/comfort level in a timely enough manner to help me and my unborn child.
In all fairness, I did have an opportunity to see this film and I passed #1) because I felt I'd see way more of Ricki Lake than I need or care to, and #2) because I didn't think it would change my opinion on the matter. I feel that home births are enourmously risky and a throwback to the 1800s when maternal and fetal death rates were much higher. It's not for me.

The dentist! I have such anxiety over going to the dentist that I can't even listen to coworkers talk about their kids orthodontics! I always explain to my current dentist that it's nothing personal. He's fine. The hygenist is great! I know it stems from an incident from my childhood that I don't remember but my mother has told me about. This dentist was arrested many years later from growing pot behind his office building! Also, an orthodontist I had got his assets frozen by the IRS and went out of business.

I actually timed my vacation to coincide with the Olympics so I can watch them uninterrupted. Sad but true! I will make an effort to get out of the house a couple of time during that time though.

I'm not really influenced my astrology. Technically I'm a Gemini, but I near the cusp with Taurus. And very few attributes of either seem to fit me. I follow my horoscope in fashion magazines, but looking back on them after the month is over, very little of it came true. I'm more into my Angel oracle deck, and www.mysticgames.com has very good taro card readings.

If I had $20 I'd feel rich! The question should be 'How would I spend my last $5?' since that's how much money I have until payday. It's a toss up between fast food and staples like milk at the grocery store. But the deeper question is: Why, when I'm close to broke, do I feel the need to spend whatever money I have rather than save it? Why is the urge to spend it greater when it's my last $5 than if it were $20?

For my Work workspace, there's alot that could be done to improve it. First of all it's a communal workspace, not just in the fact that several people use it over the course of 24 hours, but it's a congregating area for others as well as being a high traffic area. Secondly, alot is spread out across the workspace. Not much is right at your fingertypes, meaning there's alot of getting up out of the chair, or rolling the desk chair to the area you need to be. Finally, I like to be organized, but I'm not the one in charge of organizing the workspace (I think that might go by seniority or who works there the most). It's frustrating to know where every single piece of paper is......until someone decides to re-organize or straighten things up.

I'd love to 'Say no to plastic bottled water', but I drink Water Joe, a caffinated water, and Klarbrun Lime sparkling water. I'm giving up my addiction to Pepsi for health reasons, I can't stand the smell of coffee to get close enough to drink it and I don't like teas. Mixing Water Joe and Klarbrune gives me the essence of soda and my much needed caffine even though it still bottled water.

Does unlimited money come with this totally free day?

1. I would go for a walk if the weather permits. I'm trying to walk alot more - to the library, grocery store, walmart, and any other errands around town to save on gas.
2. I would read - whether thats in my apartment, at the library or at a bookstore.
3. I'd probably watch alot more tv and dvds.
4. I'd like to think I'd cook and bake many wonderful things to eat yet not gain any weight (losing weight would be even better!).

I'd pay off my car loan ($6500), try to save some of it ($2500) and allow myself to spend $1000 of it on whatever I want! That's where the really tough thinking comes in - prioritzing that $1000 shopping list!

I guess it would have to be Tonic Sol-Fa (an acapella group). I'm kind of morally opposed to paying alot of money for lousy seats to watch a band lip-synch. I'd rather buy the "live conert" version CDs or DVDs. But Tonic Sol-Fa is a relatively local group, and I think it takes greater talent to sing acapella than with a band backing a person up with music.

Overall,I'm not panicking and I wish the media and the President would quit trying to incite panic in people by constantly talking about the "dire" situation. The last time the market took a dump the front page of our paper made sure to include the word 'panic' in it's headline. That doesn't help things - it only makes it worse.
As for the mortgage crisis, I feel like the rest of us are getting screwed because banks were stupid in lending money to people who are bad credit risks and homeowners were stupid in taking out a loan that they couldn't afford to buy more house than they needed. Those of us who are smart and responsible have to pay for others' stupidity. If you make bad choices you should have to deal with the consequences. Are we teaching our children that someone will always be there to bail them out and that they won't have to face the consequences of their actions?
