People are always trying to find racism in everything. The fact is the characters were very funny and were in some of the best parts of the movie.

in Gunman Surrenders in Fernandina on Amelia Island News
Mr. Concerned,

Are you kidding me??? And to think you, of all people, are calling the media’s reporting of this incident irresponsible. I don’t know whose side you are trying to tell but you sure aint doing Mr. Moore’s side any justice.
First off, does it really matter whether he fired from outside the house or from a second story window? I mean really, when your house is surrounded by Police any sensible person would not fire a gun from either location without expecting to be fired upon. Secondly, again, any sensible person would not greet a uniformed Police Officer at his home with a firearm and not expect Officer’s to respond defensively. Domestic dispute’s, statistically, is one of the most dangerous types of calls Officer’s respond to. So yes, their training tells them that when a suspect greets them with a firearm, either displayed or concealed, to be proactive (draw their weapon) not reactive as for being reactive could cost them their lives, as sadly it has for many others. As for the slamming of the door in their face, um NO, he did not have the right to do that. The Police were conducting a lawful investigation of which they had the right to lawfully detain him to conduct the investigation for which he was a suspect of Domestic Violence, which in the state of Florida does not require a warrant to arrest.
Now lets clear up this question of accreditation. Less then half, that’s right, less then half of all Florida Law Enforcement Agencies in the state of Florida are accredited. Luckily for the citizens of Fernandina Beach, the Fernandina Beach Police Department is one of them. Not only are they accredited, they just recently passed a follow-up re- certification of their accreditation with flying colors.
Why did they wait so long to call for help, because they had the situation under control. They had the house surrounded, the neighborhood evacuated, and Mr. Moore isolated. The only reason they did finally call for help, being a small department, was they simply did not have the manpower to sustain the standoff any longer. After all, only a fool does not ask for help.
Rubber bullets??? Where did you read this??? Only a fool would return gunfire with rubber bullets.
Now this is the part that upsets me. “Basically, you have one shot fired by the “gunman”, you write. How many times do they need to let him shoot outside his residence in a residential neighborhood before returning fire? The Police have a duty to protect the community and when someone starts firing off shots, they must respond. Calling an Officer “trigger happy” is absurd. The very last thing an Officer ever wants to do is fire his/her weapon during the course of his/her career. This type of statement to me totally discredits you and displays your true ignorance to the situation. Further, Police Officer’s need not be told when to fire their weapons. Instead, they are well trained to make that decision on their own. And in case you didn’t notice, the news media did get this part right, “OFFICER’S returned fire”. Notice, Officer’s is plural. In case you don’t know what plural means, it means more then one.
Normally I would not respond to such rubbish as this idiot has wrote but our Police Officer’s and the Fernandina Beach Police Department deserves more respect and appreciation for the way they handled this situation. Both the State Attorney’s Office and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, two extremely reputable agencies in their own right, have publicly stated how IMPRESSED they were with the manner of which the Fernandina Beach Police Department handled this matter. Enough Said!

Point #1: You immediately lose all credibility in an argument whipping out an ancient insult opener like "Hey genius". What is this? Sweet Valley High? Saved By The Bell? "Get Real" man

Point#2: Blogger and professionality are not synonymous. Mostly because "professionality" isn't a word but nothing about blogging implies "professionalism" as any jackass with an internet connection can blog

in iPhone fart app pulls in nearly $10,000 a day on VentureBeat
I think the 13K download number was for 12/22 and the stats on the link page only went to 12/20. What i'm curious to know is if 14 fart apps were released and this one reaches number 1 and the rest are nowhere to be seen, what is different with this app? Are the fart sounds better? Maybe. But possibly the reason it has done so well is because it's released by Joel and he has marketed it really well.

iFart has unique features which make it more fun, also cool graphics and interface. As one reviewer called it.. "the Myst of Fart Apps" And.. because we know how to market. The next version's going to really blow people away.

Creating an mp4 file is easy and cheap. Making and interesting Web video is expensive and hard.

Sibson did a study showing that the best and worst companies use the same performance management techniques.

http://www.imakenews.com/sibson/e_article000309...

Comparing the stock performance a company using forced ranking to a company that no longer uses forced ranking, we can see that forced ranking does nothing.

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=MCK&t=2y&l=on&z...

If performance management systems continue to use subjective criteria, those advocating these systems continue to infect their companies with their disordered thinking. It is irresponsible to shareholders to promote this garbage.
