I am the last person who thinks video games are to blame for all our woes in the world. I love computer and console games, my sons loved them, their adorable friends loved them. They're all grown up now and doing just fine. I also worked for the gaming industry for many years.

But this is a BAD idea on Playstation's part. Sadly, I'm not surprised it's been created. Ugh.

I hear that. Similarly, understanding my parents lead to forgiveness and yep, the pattern ended here too.

I don't have ADHD but also find social occasions exhausting (fun! but exhausting) for different reasons. Even one on one, even on the phone, can be tiring for me. I'm glad you found what works for you with your camera and some alone time.

I know you didn't share your past for the purpose of getting sympathy but I'm so sorry for what your dad put you through. *sigh* I suspect that even if ADHD weren't part of the picture for you, he would have found reason to treat you as he did. :-(

Thanks for the recommendation. I love good documentaries - often more than most movies - and will keep an eye out for this one in the future.

I don't see why they wouldn't release it as a dvd once it's run its course on HBO; they usually do, both docs, series and movies. (I'm HBO-less too but have caught up with some great shows via dvd.) I looked at their shopping area and other docs are in there so why not this one eventually? :-)

(And thanks for the heads up on this one; I'll have to look for it myself.)

I haven't commented in a while but wanted to thank you for continuing to share your own pictures and those of others. I absolutely love them, this one included.

Change comes in all sorts of ways, doesn't it? And sometimes need can send us off on more creative and fulfilling paths. I hope that's the case for T. Good luck with that belt-tightening. Been there too often myself.

It's interesting to me how you used your experience of macro-photography to represent yourself and your general focus. Maybe that photography has been a necessary part of the journey for you to get you to here, to this perspective.

I wonder now how that will shape not only your life but how you use your considerable skills in photography.

But there IS room for both; it doesn't have to be either/or, in photography or in life. Appreciating the detailed wonders of nature can lead to appreciation of how precious and valuable life is for everyone in this world.

LOVE the name AND the pic (as usual). It always amazes me how you can take the often mundane and create beauty, that you SEE it in the first place and have the imagination to pursue it. That's the difference between you (a truly good and artistic photographer) and me (who needs beauty around me to make a pretty picture and uses pics to record rather than create art, which is okay too, I know).
