Bloody hell Aaron... to take up the whole first page on a Google search... nice going! I've been second on my name for ages but I'm also in the shadow of the guy who runs Straight Blast gym dagnammit.

I read an article the other day saying why people liked the DVC so much. It was because to the average reader, non-fiction is more readable than fiction BUT with the DVC it made people feel like they were learning - i.e., best of both worlds. How much of the DVC is actually accurate is debatable, but there's no question that the book itself grips peoples attention (even if its literary merit has been heavily criticised).

Whilst there's no question it's thoroughly irritating, and blatant theft, I'm really struggling to figure out why on earth they've done this. A one page website that does nothing more than basically plug you. (not that you asked for the plug, but still). It's very weird.

I think we've all at one point had this happen, I know I have.

I started my resolutions early and all have worked except walking the dog. Happy New Year to all! ... ? What type of dog is he? Obviously different breeds have different requirements, but if he's any bigger than a Collie (and with a name like Diesel, I'm guessing he is) then he should be walked every day... (BTW, I'm not trying to pick a fight here).

Besides, maybe this could be an easy way for you to get the me time, by combining the two... a 30 minute walk in the fresh air would probably do you as much good as it does him! :)

Hi Stacie, you don't know me, but Aaron does, and he'll probably know how I feel about this (if he remembers the falling out Jeremy Wright and I had about the issue), but the walking the dog once a day thing shouldn't be a resolution for you, it should just be something you do... like changing your underwear or brushing your teeth... And IMNSHO it should be more like twice a day... I know we're busy people but if you take the responsibility of owning a dog, then you need to care for it properly... it'd be like Aaron only feeding Devin once a day or changing him once etc...

Sorry, feel strongly about this, and if you can afford to get a day's "me time" a week, then you can afford 20 minutes twice a day to walk your dog..!

Ah yes open_basedir(), figured you'd mention that. Nice idea to use file_exists to check a file before including it. I s'pose there's lot of stuff you could do, like checking the $_SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"] or the HOSTNAME to check the file is coming from itself.



Are you gonna do anything on FTP security? Not being much of a security buff myself, but thinking about it, were someone able to gain FTP access (don't know but with register_globals on, could you pass a system command through a $_GET equiv, or guest accounts/public_ftp etc.) then they could upload whatever they wanted and have away with your system.



And you might want to mention for the more n00b programmers out there to give all includes a .php extension (and not a .inc, for example ;) :p).

Hey Aaron, I'm running Wordpress and don't have your problem! I'm currently set to show last 14 days, and although it's only showing the last 13 days (!!??!!) it's certainly not showing all posts or the very first one or whatnot.
