Anywhere is fine, as long as it doesn't take 10 minutes to find parking and the place serves fruit and whole wheat bread. There are way too many fat/sugar-filled breakfast menus out there...;)

Re: Montreal Tech Entrepreneur Meetup a Success

Good work Ben, it was fun. Invest early. Invest diligently. Keep investing. You’ll be rich when you retire."

It's classic advice. Pay yourself the first 10% of your income, dollar cost averaging, etc. I'm not sure however how that works as a plan for entrepreneurs. We often need to dip into savings (sometimes live off them) or take on debt to build our businesses. I guess you can think of that as investing your money into your own business, but more on the risky side. I'd love to ask her: If I have $1000, should I put it a steady-growth mutual fund, or do I spend it on marketing my cool new widget? It comes down to faith in your business I guess.

Re: Time To Change The Face Of Recruiting - Standout Jobs

All the best in changing the world.

Re: Be More Productive By Taking A Break

I read a great book called "The Power of Full Engagement: Managing Energy, Not Time, Is the Key to High Performance and Personal Renewal". It talks about the importance of downtime and other energy management principles. I recommend it.

Re: The Most Unproductive Question You Can Ask

Tomorrow I plan on planning for the next day to plan for the next day to plan for the next day to plan for the next day...

A little Friday humour...

Good stuff Ben, have a great weekend!

Re: Top 10 Reasons to Join a Startup

A startup "is" what the people "in it" make of it. Just join the right one (and that could mean different things to different people).

Evan, you sound like the guy who's been married and divorced a few times and who concludes that marriage downright sucks. Even the stats out there would back up such a claim with say half or more of the marriages out there end up in failure. But ask someone who's in a successful relationship and they'll tell you that marriage is an amazing platform for having a great life. Just like in a marriage or any partnership, in a startup, you "make" it work and it always ends up being what you and your team make of it.

Ben, once again, great post.

Re: Top 10 Reasons to Join a Startup

Shameless plug...

If you love this top 10, you love startups, and you love sports, give us a shout: jobs@ilovetoplay.com.

More startup passion: http://ilovetoplay.wordpress.com/2007/03/10/thi...
