Seriously? I ain't driving across the border. Not even for U2. Come to Seattle, y'all. Or even Portland's fine.

Re: Velvet Revolver @ The Warfield, 5/5/07

OMG, Slash is a living Guitar GOD! I saw these guys in 2004, and they were freaking awesome! At that time they were new, so Scott decided to add "Sex Type Thing" and GNR's "It's so Easy" to the lineup, and women went nuts on hearing these covers. Scott Weiland is indeed a great entertainer. And seeing Slash play his divine solos, yes it is a childhood dream come true.

I'm glad to hear that they did do some different covers this time, or that they did covers after all. Slash said in an interview last month that they may not do covers any more.

Could I add your site to your blog ring? I find it very interesting. Rock on!

Re: Top 5 supergroups

Chinese Democracy? Maybe China will finally attain democracy before this album releases. However, some of the tracks have leaked online, and they're shocking! Very 1997-ish, with emo and industrial + guitar riffs and solos. Weird, eh?

Re: rockumentaries: Ramones—-Raw

Vincent Chase could have played a great Joey Ramone!

Re: White Stripes new song/video, Icky Thump

Weird = yes. Good = yes. Good guitars. Lyrics are good too. If you go to their myspace page, they have an image with the lyrics to this song. Gonna see them live in July, hopefully.

What do you think of Velvet Revolver's new video/song? Thought it was different as well. They've changed their CD cover again. Same color theme as Contrabrand :( - check it out at amazon.com

Re: rock out SF

Oh jeez. NIN may just get a dance nomination for the remix album, if not hard rock :-)

Re: Top 5: Music Video directors

Strongly agree! Mark Romanek also directed Madonna's "Rain" video and many others. I would have somehow squeezed in Andrew Morahan for directing GnR's "November Rain" and "Estranged" videos, among others.

Great post, overall. He's become too goody goody a rockstar. Half the songs in his "Moving On" album from last year lacked any hard rock punch his previous bands had.

I just hope it's not Sebastian Bach who replaces Weiland in VR.

My theory? Either VR won't make a third album or Scott will return after fighting with his STP band mates again. Always got a shoulder to cry on.

Re: Top 5: Father’s Day Songs

What about "Killer/Papa was a rolling stone" by George Michael and Queen?

Re: To blog or not to blog

Yeah, blogging is slowly becoming less fun that it used to be, thanks to professional writers, journalists and experts calling their online columns "blogs" as well. I read your review about his performance, and I may just pass. UNLESS he's planning to do it right this time by singing his old Soundgarden (or hell, even Audioslave) tracks rather than craplets from his latest joke of an album. Not very likely, though.

Re: The Real NIN/JA Dates are Here!

They are also playing at the Sasquatch festival near Seattle on May 24.

Re: The Justice Tour w/ Tom Morello The Nightwatchman @ Slim’s, 3/26/09

Thanks for the review, I will be seeing the Justice guys with NIN/JA at Sasquatch next month.
