Is this going to be an action flick or a comedy?

Given the typical trend of books being better than the movies, and particularly with the general disappointment with the DVC movie adaptation, that just seems ridiculously optimistic of you. :)

Spike Lee is an idiot who thrives on controversy. He's probably glad to have gotten the publicity. He may or may not have believed what he said, who knows? If he's counter-pitching another movie (which still hovers in the "what's it again?" territory) then his motivation behind the comment is quite clear.

How would this movie be better than the book? The first one sure as hell wasn't. It took a good story and made it plodding and boring. To be fair, it is hard to portray people thinking and puzzling things out, of course.

It's called a parental money grab. He's probably his manager, too.

I've only seen the first 4, but after Sixth Sense the buildup overshadowed the twist at the end.
-Unbreakable could have been worse, but it was simply godawful boring and about the most plodding story you could imagine. The twist was ok, but I really didn't care at that point so it didn't much matter.
-Signs wasn't boring, but when the aliens showed up (both of them) it was kinda corny.
-The Village -- really, who couldn't see the twist coming before even halfway through the movie? Plus the idea of the blind girl heading off by herself...that's just stupid.
-Didn't see the Lady in Water.

Much like Jean Claude Van Damme, he peaked with his first movie. Unlike JCVD, his first movie was really good. He should have only been allowed to do episodes of The Twilight Zone or that other similar show after it. He could probably acceptably do 22 minute stories.

New South F&$%$%^ Wales. It's in Australia, but apparently sucks so much it's equated to things you don't want other people to know, or something.

It may be nice for the die hards, but ordinary people are going to have a hell of a hard time distinguishing who's who out of 20 Transformers, and they certainly aren't going to be fully realize "characters". It'll be like George Lucas inventing a bunch of aliens just because he can, though it doesn't impact the story (or lack thereof) one bit.

Cool. I'd really like a show about watching TV and eating takeout food while nothing happens. ;)

Well, she's definitely grown up. And down.

3 cases? Didn't they get the memo? 2 cases per episode, so you can split characters up and hopefully the viewers will stick through it if 1 of the cases turns out boring.

Man, you could have given her the first paragraph to herself like she got it on her own merits, leaving the Opie Connection until later, dude. :)

How many characters is he going to play in this one?

Have to go with TA -- as much as I like Jack Black, this is just so far outside of his niche that the mere suggestion is ridiculous.

He peaked in Breakin' 2. Just sayin'.

Clearly a "They Call Me Bruce" and "They Still Call Me Bruce" knock off. I'd expect more from Bruce. :)

Eh, to me Indy started out almost middle aged, not young, but I see your point.

Jason, it doesn't matter that they've "aged" the character. This is going to be a groan-y comparison, but Obi-Wan Kenobi went from old to young, didn't he? :)

We must have been on some kind of blackout or something. AFN said they'd carry it live, and then at the regular time (we're off by a few hours) but it hasn't been on... :(

It's been a while since I last read The Hobbit, to be sure, but I don't recall Aragorn being in it. ;)

Let's remember that the bad parts of Con Air were not John Cusack's fault. Nicholas Cage didn't realize that you don't have to sound like a complete idiot to have a southern accent.

You'll want "D-Day", "Band of Brothers", and probably "Pegasus Bridge" by Stephen Ambrose then.

The book is also quite good, but the mini-series tracks fairly well with it. You'd probably like a couple of Ambrose' other books on the same theme, though one is kind of a re-hash and summary of the others.

You know what's weird? Unless you're posting this several days late, I saw the "final 3 then 2" episode several days ago (I want to say it was Monday or so) but they didn't show the live finale at all. Our TV network is amateurish, to say the least. :)
