Interestingly if you want to create encrypted volume on a memory stick that is compatible with OS X, Linux and Windows the open source project TrueCrypt ( http://www.truecrypt.org/ ) has now released version 5 of their product.

Worth considering if you need to securely share data between any of these platforms.

I think the desirability of this will still mean it will sell reasonably well. There will always be those that are prepared to pay a premium or require a machine that is as small as this. Agree it would have been nice if the price was a little closer to a standard MacBook but in reality Apple have always been about maintaining product differentiation and not killing sales of their existing products with introduction of new ones.

It clearly isnt going to ship in same numbers as the MacBook and Pro models though as it is aimed a smaller demographic.

I have been using Plaxo for some time now and it works pretty well, syncing my Mac Address Book, Gmail COntacts and Outlook contacts at work. It isnt perfect but it is pretty close.

Any news ? Got it working yet ? I bought an EEE for my son for Xmas. Not sure I would hack his to load OS X as he is quite happy with it as is, but might be interested to have a go on a new one for my self ! :)

These plugins are really cool. What I hadn't realised until I tried these plugins was that QuickLook works in any view mode of Finder. I was under the mistaken impressiong that it only worked when in CoverFlow mode until today ! Doh !

Well impressive I have to say ! Wish I could get a fraction of that sort of traffic to http://ukmac.net
