You are absolutely right ajm -- Obama has been cited by FactCheck.org as well. I acknowledged this in a previous post:

However, it does appear that McCain's falsities are much more frequent, significant and systematic in nature. I will be keeping track of FactCheck.org's analyses, and I will update if/when Obama is cited again. Thanks for pointing this out.

I certainly am not suggesting that. You are absolutely right that the McCain campaign is replicating Obama's strategy for dealing with the press. I did not intend to dispute that, but simply illustrate the practical effect of the McCain camp's new strategy.

I didn't mean to imply that Obama's timeline was absolute. And to the "ranch" point -- you're right, that is a bit of laziness on my part. The place is more like 15-acres, I believe. "Ranch" is an easy word to describe any large estate in the Western United States. So I am guilty. "Estate" or "compound" would be a more accurate term. Apologies.
