in Anti-Procrastination Month: Day 30 on The Savvy Entrepreneur
I started this month with plans of a nice big reward for myself if I accomplished all my goals. But early on I realized that keeping an orderly mind (and house and workspace) is really its own reward. My stress level has significantly lowered and I now have a daily feeling of accomplishment that I never had before. I am still looking forward to my "big" reward, but I am happy to see that I didn't have to wait until the end of the month to be rewarded for my efforts!

It may not seem like much, but every step counts! I'm sure you feel better looking at the before/after photos of your desk!

Congrats Criss and welcome to the club! What I appreciate most about GTD (yes, there's an acronym for it!) is its bottom-up approach. Rather than spending a lot of time on your overall plan, you can start acting right away and feel lighter as your to-do list shrinks. My own "Inbox 0" October plan is in fact based on GTD and, if you really want accountability, I challenge you to post a screenshot of your empty Inbox every day... to keep you honest ;)

in I Love Negative Feedback on The Savvy Entrepreneur
Given that there is no sign of any "monkey" anywhere in the survey once the person has clicked the link, I don't see why you would need to look for another survey program.
I would simply suggest switching from the "click here" format to a more transparent link, such as: "Would you take a few minutes to honestly tell me if my project has any merit?" and link the words "tell me" to the survey. This way, no one would notice the site's name, unless they look up at their browser's address bar.

in Marketing momentum discussion continued… on The Savvy Entrepreneur
Your "set clear goals" point encouraged me to take action today: I am on my way to have some business cards printed. A small step, but I feel like I am going forward. Thanks!

in Are you biting off more than you can chew? on The Savvy Entrepreneur
"Quote a higher than usual fee and estimate more time than you think it'll take to complete the project." - This is a great tip! I do that myself and find that it is always a win-win situation. As a busy small business owner, my time is very valuable. Why not put an adequate price on it?
