We hosted a party when our five-year old was just a baby, and grandma bought the consultant starter kit. We've had the older toys socked away for years now. It's probably time to look thru it and see what can be played with now.

BTW - The boat w/ the hammer has been one of the most used toys in our house since we got it almost five years ago.

Re: Weekend DVD Round Up

We've been on a rental bender, lately. I'd recommend: The Constant Gardner; Good Night, and Good Luck. The latter might inspire some thoughts for TNSFS.

Re: Independance Day Quiz

6 out of 10, with only one or two complete guesses.

Re: Blog Architecture: Conversation

I'm real interested to see how this turns out. Won't just about any ad program work on a kigh traffic/high PR site? I'm not trying to be snarky; I'm just wondering if I'm missing something.

Re: becoming a multiracial church, part 3

This is something I'm thinking about a lot. Any local church would be stronger and better with real diversity, (and not just racial, but political, economic, educational, etc.)

We have an opportunity in our new house church to be pro-active in this regard. If three or four non-white families (read as one or more persons living under the same roof) missionally joined an ethnically white church of 500+, that doesn't do much to the racial mix; but if those same three of four families joined with us, we'd be a multiracial church (almost from day one.) And hopefully everything that grows from this would remain reflective of this origin.

But how do you make it happen without sounding like you just want to use someone because of their differently colored skin? How would this come across: Contact a few churches in our area with non-white congregations, and speak with the pastor/elder/similar about partnering with us by sending a family or two to join us in mission. My language is a little rough, but I think the idea is clear. I'd welcome comments and critisicm.

Re: It’s been 32 years…

Happy Birthday, young man! :D

Re: A Night in the ER

Sounds like me and my appendectomy last summer. A couple more years like this, and we can put the last nail in the MNF coffin.

Re: iTunes Error

I just used a similar rationale. My circa 2004 iPod wouldn't play nicely with the speakers I got for Christmas. Of course a new iPod required an upgrade to my Mac OS, which was a nice bonus.

I think I hear eBay paging you.
