But the fact that it can only do iTunes media for video is what is preventing me. While I do have a load of tv shows purchased from the iTMS, I also have a lot of .avi files that I would like streamed as well, which the AppleTV can't do. Until I can load Perian on the thing or some such nonsense, I'm gonna hold off, or save for a Mac Mini for the living room.

J. Personally, I'm very tempted to get an Elgato EyeTV (the price is just right for my tastes). Then I can upstage my roommate and her fancy schmancy (and very crappy) HP laptop with a PVR box.

J. I have the money in the bank (saving up for a new MacBook Pro), I have an AT&T contract that is up for renewal, and my Moto RAZR is a big steaming pile of crap. A few of my friends got them and won't shut up about how awesome they are. It seems the universe wants me to get an iPhone. But no... I must hold out for now, at least until I can get my MBP.

However, I fear I am going to have the theme music from the commercials stuck in my head until I do get one. Perhaps Steve Jobs has some sort of evil mind control ray...

J. In fact just last night my roommate got mad when I was bothered by the fact that the computer some detectives were using was clearly OSX in the wideshot, but for closeups of the program they were using, it was a Windows app.

And yes, it was before the Intel switch :P

J. I first switched three years ago. I was using a rutty old eMachine (truth be told, by then I had swapped out so many parts that the case and the IDE cables were about the only original eMachine parts) when I started the graphic design program at school. They were using Jaguar at the time, and I immediately fell in love. But alas! I could not afford one. A few months later, an incredible opportunity presented itself. My friend's mom had bought an iBook, but after a month didn't like it, but she couldn't return it. So she sold it to me with an awesome payment plan. Since then, I've added an Intel iMac to my collection, as well as the occasionaly ancient iMac or Apple II to tinker around with (those come and go, though).

As for what I do, I bartend, I blog, I take pictures, and I'm still in school, trying to figure out what to do with my life. So far, I've gotten four people to switch to Mac. I'm working on the rest.

J. Alerts have been apart of iTunes for at least as long as I've been using it, which is a good three years or so. Nothing new there. The complete my album idea sounds intriguing though.

J. My iMac is held up by an Adobe Illustrator 7 guide, a Dreamweaver 3 book, and a Photoshop 7 book. My second display sits right next to it on a shoebox.

It's a very nice shoebox, though.

J.
