Understand he'd had a tough day on the bike but he was moaning about all the other riders who don't have a job to do (e.g. helping GC guys) moving forward at the bottom of the climb and making it difficult and dangerous for him to get up the front.  Give me a spell - this happens in nearly every ride no matter what the level, nobody likes being near the back at the bottom of a big climb.  He wouldn't have a problem if he moved up earlier before the rush.
