in Upgraded! Interface and Performance on DISQUS Blog and Forum
Nice work guys! I'm getting ready to give the update a go now on SheGeeks.net.

Definitely loving the speed update. With so many plugins running on my site now, performance is becoming a growing priority.

Does this also pull/pushes the comments made on your friendfeed stream to your blog?

Awesome experiment Mike. Maybe you could switch up different people every 5 days for the next 30 days?

in The FriendFeed Orgasm And Why It Is Off The Mark on David Risley
The noise level is really high and the echo chamber effect is definitely a problem. However, all of these are just side effects because every aggregation of the same item is necessary to some extent. Some people hide all Twitter items. That's ok, get it through to them through Google Reader or your blog posts.

As for the echo chamber effect, stop following so many A-listers or just don't follow people in the same circles because you'll get everyone's news from one person if you're choose wisely.

in The Ultimate Friendfeed List or OMG Now I’ll Never Sleep or Scoble Made Me Do It on Listropolis
I never knew about your site either until you made the FF post. This is a great list though! Shall be using it to help make another post I'm working on. Thanks!

in Is Friendfeed bringing us more up to date yet further apart? on Blending the mix
Not necessarily. The option is there just incase you have the time and WANT to connect with other people sharing similar interests. You're not obligated to use it though.

in FriendFeed Launches API, Can They Take on Facebook? on Social Times
I highly doubt FriendFeed did this as a direct strike to Facebook since both services serve different purposes.

Facebook could learn quite a bit from FriendFeed, but I just don't see them as direct competitors, even with similar features. The PURPOSES are different.

I just can't get used to #7. I like to post for the "now" not the "later". Maybe that's because I've yet to hit a serious writer's block.

@Jarred I don't expect it to slow down at all. I just wanted to complain. =P

@Bill Arneson No you're not! I've blocked 70% of them. The other 30 hasn't reached me yet.

Way to put us back on track Scoble!

However, for some people, politics is all they have now. They abandoned principles left and right and so they can only stick to what they now have.

You spelled my name wrong Nicole.

Great response though. I can't deny that sometimes politics and money can make the situation more complicated. Thanks for pointing out those things from a corporate perspective.

I'm definitely seeing the changes. You've even shared 1 of my stories! (Thanks for that)

I've definitely been reaching 'the right audience' for SheGeeks. And I agree that companies should not make the word 'blog' into a corporate and capitalistic icon! They need to come up with their own world that has no relations to the word blog, because blogging isn't something that they do.

in Disqus and the comment-o-sphere on Mathew's comments
I had no clue that they didn't have trackback links.

Regardless, I think Disqus is a neat system and can be very useful when dealing with comments. So many people forget to come back and check for replies and I think it solves that problem and allows for the conversation to continue, when it usually dies out because people forget to come back and respond.

in Displaying RSS Subscriber Numbers: When Is It Beneficial? on SheGeeks
@Paul OFlaherty and Chris Miller - True enough I don't want people to follow just to be following. You don't think it at least makes your blog "seem" valuable enough? Is it possible that subscriber numbers can sort of confirm your value to some extent, thereby making it beneficial to display?
