in 35+ Examples of Corporate Social Media in Action on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Good list, thanks. Two I would add: a small telephony company, Ribbit (Ribbit.com), that actively twitters, blogs and more with the interested party/developer community...and Whole Foods, whose recent blog post, "We're All A-Twitter," says much about their thinking on social media: http://blog.wholefoodsmarket.com/2008/07/we%e2%...
Thanks for pulling these thoughts together.

Still tweaking around but can't understand "Boxes." Why "Boxes"? Couldn't "Apps" work? Hard when people come up with new names for things that already have names.

in What is your Social Media Sweet Spot? on Social Times
Anthony, great thoughts. It would be interesting to explore the input to this graph...and correlations between hours spent (or "activities conducted," e.g. #Tweets, etc.) and results ("Follower" growth, #@messages, #dmessages, ratios of followings:followers) and correlaries on FB etc.
The good news is that I've been tracking all of this for about 6 weeks for a tech start-up. I'll try to work with your graph and see if we can find ways to fine-tune what we are doing so that it gives us some ROI metrics...yay!
Thanks for great insights. Ellen

I was excited about Summize for business reasons (and I still am) but in playing with it I discovered that I can search Tweets pretty openly, even if I'm not a Twitter user or connected (Following or Follower) to the Tweeter. Details here:

in To Our Mothers on goodCRIMETHINK
Wow, Baratunde. Inspiring words. I hope that I have done and will continue to do at least some of what you thank your mom for doing as I support my three sons on their paths.
From a Mom’s perspective: nothing is more satisfying—and more a celebration of our own paths, as Moms—than seeing our children do well, live well, love life, and find their way. I’m sure that your Mom loves seeing you thrive, still inspiring you, still being there for you in some mysterious way. I’m saluting her, too, today—she’s still doing a great job.
All the best,
Ellen

in What Have You Done for me Lately Social Media? on Social Times
Great insights, Nick. At the end of the day, we have to manage our social media initiatives and ROI for ourselves–because we are learning by being there, because we are absorbing the nature of online services and connections, and because when we call on the grid (in appropriate measures) to help us broadcast, ask, converse, it will do that for us. But like anything else in life, it’s a slow build of trust, credibility, finding the right alliances and developing relationships. The tools are tools. What matters is what you build with them.
