like the knurled metal grip.

It does feel nicely made, though, and the plain surface is pleasantly grippy. The clip is a nicely designed touch, too - kind of hooks around half of the body.

If you like light weight pencils, the Caran d'Ache may be the one, but if you prefer a bit of weight, mainly towards the tip, the 780 takes some beating.

Though I have to admit, I'm almost exclusively using my Faber-Castell e-Motion now...

in How MySpace is Broken on Chris Brogan
Well, I *was* going to log in and see if I could work out how to find you and add you as a friend, Chris, but I failed. I tried the wrong password first, and it redirected me to a page telling me I had to be logged in to use *that* feature - what, the *login* feature? You have to be logged in to be able to log in?

Once I got past that, a loud annoying tune started playing along with an animated Flash ad, and I closed the tab.

How can 150 million people be using something that's completely unusable? I don't get it either - must be too old.

I was just feeling left out there for not being called Jon, and wondering if having John as a middle name was enough. Then, I realised that if I post a comment, us Michaels can start ganging up too. Yay!

Oh, and you didn't just forget to Ctrl-refresh, did you? The browser might just be refusing to go get the stylesheet again, thinking it's still got it from before you changed theme. Clearing cache might be needed if it's playing up, or just run a different browser to check.

You need Neal Stephenson's The Baroque Cycle. Involves pirates and long sea battles, the colonization of America, upheavals in the British monarchy, the formation of the world's currencies, and the secret Societas Eruditorum, helping to keep everything moving as it should.

Only problem is, it's eight novels, bound in three volumes of around 900 pages each, so you might have to give up on a few other things to fit it in. Well worth it, though. Plus, it gets all three of your themes in one.

Best blogs you're not reading is a tricky one, but I'll take a guess that you're not following XKCD?

It's a comic strip, not a blog, but splendidly geeky, and the last but one was about youTube.

And as for what we're doing in 2007, we're going to be selling lots of pens, and enjoying living in Devon.

"Top Shelf" - means high quality over there.

Over here in the UK, it's quite commonly used to mean *porn* - the porn magazines are always kept on the top shelf, so they're away from the kiddies, so the phrase tends to be associated with porn more than quality.

So I found her work somewhat disappointing ;)

If you have spare Y!360 invites that you're not going to use, I wouldn't mind giving it a go, but do put me at the back of the list - I don't really *know* you (just enjoy your blogging :), and it wouldn't be to really *use*, just to review for PigPog (my web site, all about sharing creativity).

For years, a fair bit of our traffic came from people searching for Sally James in Tiswas. Most of it recently has come from mentioning a 6lb burger at Denny's Beer Barrel.

There you go, that should boost your ratings a bit further ;)

Hey, they come for the Numa Numa, they stay for the quality blogging.
