I love the point about making commitments. After I committed to running the NYC Marathon, I found myself running more frequently. When ever I can't get myself to move fast enough, I commit to something big. (My current commitment is a 200-mile bike ride.

That's pretty cool of them. Yahoo recently tripled the annual price of parking a domain with them. Then they stopped answering their phones. (You actually get hung up on when you call to talk to someone about your domain.) Now I have to move each one of my dozens of domains individually.

When I was growing up, my access to information was limited to my family's World Book Encyclopedia and the small local library.

Today, we have access to information from all over the world. I think the next step is to give us access to teachers from around the world.

Podcasting is a good start, but it's one-directional.

If you're doing anything online, you *have* to be at this event. Drive or fly in if you have to. Because:

1. Mashable's people will be there. Getting the know the people who report about your business is tremendously helpful when you're growing a company.

2. Your industry will be there. Being around people who are building the future will help you generate great ideas.

3. The conference will be there. Community Next is bringing some the leaders in New Media.

4. Your future employees (or jobs) will be there. You've got to know that there's networking is the best way to find employees (and jobs).

Do what you have to do to get to this event. And when you get there, come by and say hi to me.

As their deal with evite shows, guests want more ways to get to know each other before parties. For many events that's great, but I don't think it's enough. That's why I'm building an invitation Web site that really helps guests mix before events.

There are no "party personalities" but on Mixergy.com you can see the actual picture of who's coming, message them, and really get to know them. Guests are also matched with other guests that they should meet.

- It all started randomly on a racquetball court.

- The idea spread because they didn't trademark it.

- Their only PR effort was reaching out to Dave Barry.

@Olivia: Thanks for writing the first comment. Every time I end a post with a request for comments, I worry that no one will write anything and I'll look like a fool. ;-)

@Valeria: I did a second interview with Tim about his business tips and he stressed the importance of creating systems for everything you do. That way, he told me, you can hand it off to others. What I've noticed about him in the two interviews that I did with him, is that he's very system-oriented. That makes for a great teacher.

@Craig: What keeps coming up in the interviews that I've done is the power of meeting people face to face. Try looking for free events to attend. Or, call the organizers and offer to write a post about their event in exchange for a free ticket. Or, CRASH THE EVENT. Find a way.

@Jacqueline: Great idea. That's how I met Mashable. I read the blog and when I found out they were doing events, I emailed Pete and asked to help him do an event in my city, Santa Monica.

@Steve, Good point. I really do need to curate my list. It's easy to accumulate a pile of blogs that don't matter.

I asked Tim that question. He says when he gets back from a conference he waits before following up with people. If you email right away you get lost in the crowd of followup emails. (Anyone else seeing a pattern in his thinking? The need to separate from the crowd keeps coming up.)

It's a good book. Mostly, when people compile their best articles, the book they put together feels lazy. In Guy's case, he really put work into compiling, editing and drawing bigger meaning from the pieces he put together in Reality Check.

I tried it a class on EduFire. I was surprised by how helpful it is to have a teacher on video with you while you learn.

It kept me accountable. Every time I wanted to click around the Internet or get lost in some other distraction, I realized on was on a 2-way Web cam and stayed focused.

I used to be so anti-stories. Telling them made me feel like I was talking down to people. But I've started to realize that stories are more memorable than bullet points.

The big messages that I remember are all linked up with stories.

I have an smart phone. Why would I want to carry around another device?

Let's quit making new devices and focus on bringing new possibilities to the devices we have.

Reading a book on a smart phone is very convenient. Have some time to kill while waiting for a meeting? Pull out your phone and read. Traveling? Pack light. Bring your phone and you have your whole book collection with you. Don't have time to go to the bookstore? Pull out your phone and log into the store instead.

I'd like to add two more:

1) Layout. One thing I love about your site is that the content is easy to see/read. What's the use of good content if I can't read it? (My site's template is still a little awkward that way.)

2) In an interview I did recently, I learnd that you don't have to "create" good content, you can just discover and expose it.
