Why didn't I think to do that?! Such an easy calendar to put together.

That's the most interesting part of this for me, watching this business grow its revenue. I appreciate how open Roger is about the business.

I can't believe it took me this long to realize. I'm sorry to hear it Mark. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming shows.

No problemo. I usually take the weekend off, so if no one said anything it might be a few days before someone noticed.

I love seeing people who I know in the comments. (And meeting people in person after connecting with them through the comments.)
Thanks for complimenting me & Guy. You're obviously on Twitter. You might want to tweet a thanks over to him directly. It's an easy way to build up a connection.
See you at the next event.

It's a good book. Mostly, when people compile their best articles, the book they put together feels lazy. In Guy's case, he really put work into compiling, editing and drawing bigger meaning from the pieces he put together in Reality Check.

Thanks TM! I'm terrible at catching typos like that in my writing. In two hours, I'm going to take one of my readers out to lunch because she helped me find and fix some errors. If you're ever at a Mashable party, come say hi so I could buy you a drink TM.

Go out to networking events and developer meetups. Get to know some coders and start brainstorming ideas with them.

I love when I learn something from the comment. Drell, I just went to quicken and like you said, they have a free online service that competes pretty well with Mint. Thanks man.

@Yasser: I've seen you online a lot. i didn't realize you weren't in the US. I guess traveling to events wouldn't make much sense for you. Still, looks like you're doing a great job of getting yourself out there.

@imodotcom: Thanks for the compliment.

I asked Tim that question. He says when he gets back from a conference he waits before following up with people. If you email right away you get lost in the crowd of followup emails. (Anyone else seeing a pattern in his thinking? The need to separate from the crowd keeps coming up.)

@Olivia: Thanks for writing the first comment. Every time I end a post with a request for comments, I worry that no one will write anything and I'll look like a fool. ;-)
@Valeria: I did a second interview with Tim about his business tips and he stressed the importance of creating systems for everything you do. That way, he told me, you can hand it off to others. What I've noticed about him in the two interviews that I did with him, is that he's very system-oriented. That makes for a great teacher.
@Craig: What keeps coming up in the interviews that I've done is the power of meeting people face to face. Try looking for free events to attend. Or, call the organizers and offer to write a post about their event in exchange for a free ticket. Or, CRASH THE EVENT. Find a way.
@Jacqueline: Great idea. That's how I met Mashable. I read the blog and when I found out they were doing events, I emailed Pete and asked to help him do an event in my city, Santa Monica.
@Steve, Good point. I really do need to curate my list. It's easy to accumulate a pile of blogs that don't matter.

Have you noticed that Zuckerberg isn't sharing anything?
Why is it that the people who want you to share everything on their sites are the biggest hiders?

With all due respect Mr. Wilson, I feel that your vision is too optimistic by half.
I think it's easy for those of you who spend your days inside the social-media sphere to forget that a lot of people a) do not use social media b) have no interest in it.
Abdi in Mogadishu is not going to be blogging about his experiences in war-torn Somalia. He is probably going to be looking for his next meal or defending himself from rival clan attacks.
I think that the notion of privacy is an issue that hasn't come to the forefront yet, but will emerge in a big way as social media hits critical mass. You will see a backlash against social media for this very reason.
Before anyone labels me a "curmudgeon", I blog, I use facebook and I'm very interested in technology. But the pendulum will swing the other way eventually. As someone who has grown up with the Internet, I am very comfortable with these technologies. But if I knew the implications of what I post on facebook and the content I post on my blog when I started out, I would have been MUCH more guarded.

in What I Learned From Robert Scoble About How to Become Internet Famous on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Damien: I agree about burning people out with too many posts. (I wonder if I'm doing that here with too many comments.)
Yasser: Thanks for the compliment. I'm a Scoble fan too.
John: I wonder how many internet famous people are really famous in their own minds. Are we all speaking to ourselves. (By the way, who's the girl in your avatar?)
Venkat: Like you said, I'll keep on writing. I wonder how much time I should commit to this? I do have real work to do. I'd love to hear anyone's ideas for where to draw the line.
Everyone: Thanks for all the feedback & comments. I love the conversation this sparked.

Does Technorati's research disagree with that? They seem to say that you need to just create as much as possible and let the users figure out what they want:

I read that article. In the end, you seemed to say that an online presence is great for people like club promoters, but not for most people. Seems that point disagrees with my goal of raising my profile online.
(BTW, nice bit of self-promotion in that comment. Love it buddy.)

I've been wrestling with that niche question. How do I limit myself when there's so much I'm interested in. I'd love to know how others do it.

I end posts with questions sometimes too. What happens when no one answers those questions? Is it embarrassing because it tells that world that you don't have enough readers?

It really does take me forever to interview people + write it up + do a video about it. I do it because I learn so much from having conversations, like the one I had with Scoble.
