in louisgray.com: RSS Has Practically Eliminated My Need for Browser Bookmarks on louisgray.com
Earlier this week, I edited by bookmarks down to around 1/10 of what they were. So I absolutely agree with you. But one that remains is http://is.gd/ - how else am I gonna' do Twitter?

in How Alltop Powers Bloggers on Chris Brogan
I recommend Alltop to colleagues - we cover over 15 different business sectors - who are kicking off a new blog and they ask the question, "where do I find blogs in my chosen area?"

in 2008/11/22/youtube-live-why/ on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Am I missing something but aren't the "views" figures - around 12,000 for the most viewed at this moment - somewhat low for all the publicity and for YouTube itself?

in If I Started Today on Chris Brogan
Listen, comment, interact...I would add another word, look! I find that so many people start by asking me the simple queston "where do I find other blogs" as if we all inhabit a parallel universe. They just need to start looking, rather than merely seeing, and they will observe it all around them.

in Should Every Outward Facing Employee Have a Web Presence on Chris Brogan
I so agree with you.
I was recently blogging at a conference ABOUT social media and the majority of the speakers had no blog while a small minority had such a small digital footprint that they were not even searchable on google.
I had to link my blog to their LinkedIn profile or even their company website so some of the speakers had no way of being alerted to the social media buzz around the conference.

in I love the Web on Scobleizer
Now we discover that whether you love the web or are addicted to it, you jolly well should be. A recent book, iBrain, shows that "those who become really good at technology will have a survival advantage". So now we have another reason to understand why it feels like it does!

in How You Can Help End the Problem of Blogs With Great Content and No Readers on Chuck Westbrook's Blog
Count me in as well - a cool no 208. I am going to encourage my colleagues to sign up as well. We are all pretty new to blogging. A great way to get them to open up to blogging culture/etiquette/content.

in How Different Media Reaches Us Differently on Chris Brogan
I'm really into Flickr and Ustream.Tv when I am too busy travelling or there is something else in my life happneing to post regularly on my blog. As soon as I go into what I call "picture blogging" zone, I realise how I am stretching out into a new and different network than my usual pure blogging one.

Great kit! Have had a few problems which I have listed in my blog. Marko and Jure were brilliant at helping so will feed back any bugs.

in Social Media And US Business Familiarity, Usage And Adoption: A Research Study Of The Inc. 500 on Robin Good's Master New Media
So what is a company to do? Put a company logo or a real person's face on that ubiquitous digital profile. And if it does, can the CEO of a traditional company play at being as publically "private" as the cool CEO of a Silicon Valley company can afford to be. We will see.

in This is an accidental ‘lifestream’ on Martin Stabe
It is ironic, isn't it, that your blog as a stream of delicious recommendations is of far less value than your blog as one-off postings. The former is something of interest, the latter a useful addition to my blog roll. So, there is obviously life in the traditional blog yet!

in The debut of Ledger Live on the exploding newsroom
I guess i thought that the word "comment" on the bottom of a page headed "the exploding newsroom" and below Brian Donohue's broadcast meant that this was the place to comment on both of them. From an outsider's prespective that is what it looks like. So I was commenting on the fact that neither the exploding newsroom nor the broadcast actually states exactly what it is- once again from the outsiders' perspective.

Sorry for the confusion. To clarify, this is my personal blog, in which I write about a range of things but mainly about what we're up to at The Star-Ledger. I work for The Star-Ledger, and our home on the web is at NJ.com. We just debuted a new nooncast, Ledger Live, which you can find at http://www.nj.com/ledgerlive. In any case, thanks for your post about the show. We're off and running...

Just wondering if you should push your connection to New Jersey, the Star-Ledger even nj.com more on the site. If you come from outside the state - in my case London, UK - the page really demands a lot of the user to know what it is about. See this posting - http://johnwelsh.wordpress.com/2008/07/30/the-e... - don't forget the global when focusing on the local!

Hmm. Not sure what you mean, John. This is my personal blog, and if you click on the About link, it explains who I am and where I work. Sorry for any confusion, but I guess I don't understand the problem.

in Has/How/Why tech blogging has failed you on Scobleizer
Hi
Good afternoon.
Could you tell me why my comment about Twitter was not used? It remained in a "To be moderated" position and has now disappeared. I am new to blogging so if I have broken some etiquette, it would be useful to know.
My comment made reference to me receiving spam via Twitter and linked back to the my original posting which I thought added something to Mr Scoble's blog. Obviously not so sorry about that.
Thanking you in advance
Cheers

Good posting. But you say "Twitter where there are real people who don’t care about the business but who are just looking to use technology to have more fun" but I find I am already being spammed http://johnwelsh.wordpress.com/2008/07/07/twitt...
