Too lazy? One can never be too lazy for a new domain. But you can be too lazy to set up the hosting, design, and HTML for the site.

Keep this in mind...
In addition to the actual sound being better on the actual speakers and the raw file, the audio stack was changed in Vista and should be an improvement over the 10 year old stack.

Didn't you have that on Channel 9 at one point. I could have sworn I remember seeing that. Am I just off my rocker?

in Can Google please fix my search? on Scobleizer
What google needs is some type of page ownership claim. Similar to claimid or technorati, but with google, you can control the pages that show in searches. Google gives you a code, you place it in your site, the claim is positive, and then you can say, "This is my site, but I don't use it anymore, instead, this is my main site now."

I know I am going to get slapped around by some google fanboys for saying that, or SEO freaks, but damn, I just want to be able to control what shows up and what doesn't, I don't care how high it shows.

Frank, you found my blog faster than I thought was possible. You do indeed get cool points. You get 5. 3 for being the first to comment, 1 for finding the site, and one for using the first comment to say you were the first to comment.

However, I deduct 4 points for the use of the word w00t. You are not l33t. Come back on the 4th of November when the site opens officialy.

in The future of cable TV that you probably will never get to watch on Scobleizer
Robert,
You're right, consumers, scratch that, customers, don't have a choice. That is, unless they know how to build their own box. The average user isn't going to go to such an extreme. I have built my own box based off MythTV. It acts as my digital receiver, DVR, DVD, and multimedia player. With the amount of development, it will soon handle podcasts, and BitTorrent.

Add a resourceful entreprenuer, and maybe a venture capitalist, and a 3rd party receiver company is born. Screw the cable companies, just build devices that translate their signal, and add all the extra functionality that customers want.

Oh and, these boxes do HD too. They are already future-proof because you can add on to them, upgrade them, and update them anytime.

in Can I shoot someone? on Scobleizer
The is exactly what I have been telling bloggers for what seems like eternity now. They are old-school. They think the only way they can up their business is to have users go to their site to collect on advertising. If you offer everything through RSS you still get the hits, you still retain the business, and you strengthen the bond between business and customer.

The is a classic example of a site "not getting-it." They are only causing themselve more problems by alienating users and, at the same time, doubling their traffic costs by making customers download their pages twice. Once through RSS and another through their web page.
