don't worry, myspace only has an uptime of 15 minutes, all the rest of the time there is something broken on it.

Make it explicit, default to off. Magical moments cause those half-day-wtf-then-aha moments. If people want the functionality on by default, it's pretty easy to wrap calls to the settings in their own method.

Yeah, java open sourced their platform and are letting people add to it because sun is slowly dying and couldn't support the platform. nuff said.

and adobe open sourced something that no one really uses. big step there.

The 1 window, that is absolutely necessary to update before ANYTHING else, is the prompt that comes up when you want to install a font.

I don't think it's changed since like 3.1... maybe 95. it's hard to tell.
