I get the following error:

Erreur : Dépendance non satisfaite : kdebase-runtime (>= 4:4.2.3)

I have debase-runtime 4:2.2-0 installed in Synaptics.

I have read the whole topic at launchpad. Unfortunately, it is too much asking of me to try all of what is suggested to correct the problem, and all the more it is not sure that one of these will be successfull. I only hope the bug will be corrected in Karmic. Until then, I'll apply the solution proposed here.

Me again. Seems that rc.local with the command "alsactl restore" added is NOT executed when I (re)boot.
I still can manually restore my sound state with "sudo alsactl restore", even if it gives me a warning (same thing with "alsactl store"):
"E: core-util.c: Home directory /home/gilbert not ours."

Si jamais tu cherches ce livre, tu ne le trouveras pas au Québec. Lanctot ne l'avait plus à son catalogue dès septembre 2005. Impossible de savoir pourquoi un livre à peine paru et recensé dans Le Devoir cet été-là a disparu de la circulation.
Reste que je l'ai trouvé et commandé, un an plus tard, sur voltaire.net.

I would also suggest to use the lean and quick Opera browser, available for all platforms.
