I don't "indulge" enough. Working full-time and having a 3 year old (and a husband) to take care of I don't get much of a chance. I like to try to go shopping alone, at the mall. It's sad that is an indulgance now.

My son finished Awana earlier this summer. There was an Awana olympics and his team won. I was recording video of him doing the tug of war on a circular rope, and I recorded him winning it. Then I tried to go through my pictures and videos and started erasing some to make more room on my memory card. Unfortunately, I erased the tug of war win by mistake. Oh, that stung.

Hi Fil!

I'm using WP 1.5.1.3 and I had your postlevel plugin running until I realized that all users apart from me, the admin, cannot view or comment the post.
Please apologize if I don't get it right, but does this mean that I can fix the broken single post view of your postlevel plugin myself according to these instructions?

Do you plan to release a new version of it that works with WP 1.5.1 or higher?
Your plugin would be the only one which works with the newer WP versions.
I used the viewlevel plugin before, but since I've upgraded, it did not work any more. Now I'm using the private category plugin, but this only hides certain posts in overviews and archives. If you know the id or permalink, you can still access it. I made a quick and dirty hack and now it does not the display the content any more, but I'm not that confident with it.
Your plugin is the only one which is based on private posts you can access when you're logged in thanks to the plugin. The other ones do it vice versa, these posts are public, but hidden by the plugin. I think your way is more secure.

I'm sure you would make a lot of people very happy for this feature is desperately needed in WP. :-))) Just private posts that can only be seen in the admin area or protected posts which need a password each time are not sufficient. I already postet a feature request at wordpress.org...

Sorry for this mass of words. ;-)

I am struck by the Myles Horton quote because indeed, many of us know people who were vehemently opposed to homosexuality and who believed homosexuals were going to hell...until they actually knew someone who was gay. Once their son, cousin, friend or whoever came out, they were forced to rethink their harsh opinion, and while they may still hold a certain moral belief, they often respond with love, not hatred.

Naturally, I realize there are those who do respond with hatred, and alienate homosexual friends and family members, and I pray for all families in that situation.>

Wow. I'm 21 and have been faithfully eating ice for the past few years now! I've always had very heavy periods- intolerable at times, and I am very thin. I always wondered why one day I woke up and realized, "dang, i eat ice ALL the time" and have heard from many people that it is a sign of anemia. If i realize there is none left, i almost get depressed for a second! But then I think that's silly, so i get over it, but still feel like I need it like i need fod and water... I think I'm gonna go get it checked out.

This seems to be part of MTV's aggressive new online strategy. Shelly Palmer wrote a good article about introducing the big changes in store.

This seems like a pretty good move. A lot of the iTunes TV Shows seem to lag behind. This sets a precedent, by leaping ahead.

Of all the stories that I have heard a million times, I can not belive that I have never heard the mosquito truck story.... I would love to have been there for that one. Circling vechiles acutally reminds me of the first 24 hours that I met Ricky... I met Ricky at a St Patty's day parade and we hit it off so well that I invited him over to a friends house for dinner. After many hours of drinking, shaving his head(for the first time that is) and encountering Ricky's version of the Silence of the Lamb dance, I woke up to Ricky riding around my friends yard on a lawn mower with coke bottle glasses on, a motorcycle helmet and a BB gun. What was he doing with the BB
gun, you ask?? He was shooting at signs that read " VOTE for Aido" and pictured a black man w/ a really large fro.....

Most people can say, there was never a dull moment when Ricky was around.....

It is amazing to me that Ricky hated to dance so much but he somehow seemed to make such a spectacle of himself when he did actually dance.... I recall one late night while cousin Justin was in town we ended up at one of those dance clubs on the beach. I am pretty sure that we were the only light skinned folks in the bar and Ricky and Justin managed to get the attention of everyone in the bar. At first I was not sure what was going on but then I realized that the two of them had actually made their way up on the stage and were dancing in sync, as if they had rehearsed for hours.. Of course I thought that was bad enough until body parts started to show.. They never actaully took their shirts off but had them contoured in such a way that their bellies and chests ( hairy chest in Ricky case) were showing. I was sure that we were about to see some silence of the lamb action but they were kicked off stage and soon out of the bar..... How I miss those days....

Russ you are so right! Even knowing Ricky as well as I did, I never knew that he would have possibly been put in prison or institutionalized had someone found his stash.. And althought he did like to steal he also gave back an awful lot.. I recall one time while in New Orleans we were heading for brunch and had to pass by Lee Circle. While passing by Ricky obviously noticed about 50 homeless folks that had camped out for the night. When we passed Ricky says - turn around and head back to Wendy's, I am starving. Not quite sure what he was thinking, I turned around and went back. Ricky refused to go through the drive thru, he wanted to go in. After waiting FOREVER I assume that he using the bathroom instead of getting food but then he walks out with bags and bags of burgers in tow.. We make our way back to Lee Circle and Ricky makes his rounds handing out burgers to all. Even the ones sleeping were awakened by the smell of burgers that he left directly below their noses. So yes, Ricky was obviously a prankster but he never ceased to amaze me by his kind heartedness...

ahhhhh... Where to start? What a completely ridiculous notion, that just because these are their "customs", we should just stand back and accept them. NO. I will not. That's such a slippery slope argument, where does it stop? It's not "up to me" to ignore them, I have ZERO responsibility to do anything in this. What i DO have (or at least, SHOULD have) is the right to walk down the street without getting whistled at and having vulgar comments spewed at me. Look, I don't want to come off as a jerk, but I just find the idea that I should "just accept" these so-called customs ludicrous.

Casie, I wish I had a wonderful holiday moment for you, but I find that usually holidays are stressful and when your family is falling apart. If I could pick a special moment, I remember when I was about 11, I woke up at 5:30 am and couldnt sleep because I was so excited, and my grandfather joined me in the living room, starring at all the presents with me until everyone else woke up, however secretly he let me open a bunch of presents early.

I bought the Monroe style couch about six months ago, and it has worked out fantastic! I\'m a 19 year old female, and built it myself in about 3 hours. Beware of splinters when building! Fabric feels great, and the directions were easy to follow. Foam is a little stiff at first, but can be broken in with time. I even requested shipping to be as soon as possible to make it in time for a guest to stay, and they were extremely accommodating. I will definitely be making future purchases from homereserve.

We purchased the Monroe style Sofam Loveseat, and Armchair about 3 months ago. We think that they are VERY comfortable and sturdy. My husband put them all together by himself and it was very easy for him to do.

The only issue i have with the sofas is that the seat cushions's fabric get bunched up a lot and look sloppy. I don't know if this is common with fabric sofas as I have always purcahsed leather in the past. Or maybe it was the fabric that we chose which was the Fairview Coacoa Faux Suede. So I find myself trying to flatten the fabric ont he seat cusions a lot to make it straight but it does not work. Other than that the furniture looks great and is very comfy - I recommend!:-)

I just put my monroe love seat together a few days ago, and I LOVE it! It is in my teaching studio, and now I just hang out in here instead of the living room. :-)

I was actually wondering about sofabeds too - I was thinking of something along the lines of the pier 1 type fold out beds. The seat cushions are actually 3 times as long as they appear, but they fold twice. Two sections of the cushions are hidden underneath where you sit instead of the storage space. Then you just unfold them, and they lie flat on the floor as a bed. It would be lighter than a regular pull-out, plus you wouldn't be lying on metal rods! Double-plus!

When I started my loveseat hunt, I was actually looking for a sleeper, but ended up going for the home reserve one instead. Wouldn't it be great to be able to do both?

Fantastic! I got home tonight at 7:15, started the couch assembly at 8:00 and it's now 10:30. We've been done for a while catching the last bit of Fletch and half of another program. :-) This was super easy to assemble. The instructions were great and the price fantastic! I am learning how much forgiveness can be a continual thing. I never thought I would have to forgive someone a few times, or more. But when the hurt is deep, and you think of it from time to time, you need to forgive them again! Even if they havn't wronged you again!

Take comfort in knowing that you're not alone. John Madden (football star, coach of pro team) suffered from a panic attack on a plane and hasn't flown since either. However, what you have described, panic attack on the plane and then hinting about panic attacks in other areas could fall under a panic disorder. Also, the fear of flying could be classified as a phobia. I don't think any one here could help you over come those issues. I suggest that you seek a counselor who can help you overcome these issues. If the panic attacks are frequent enough, medication might be prescribed to help you calm the attacks. Åh, jag älskar att lyssna på julkalendern på radio. Det bästa nu är ju att man kan lyssna via webben.
När jag bodde i stockholm så passade jag alltid på att åka till jobbet i rätt tid så jag kunde lyssna i lurarna och vara klar lagom tills jag kom fram till jobbet =)

Det är mysigt att käka frulle, lyssna och ha tända ljus.
Monsterakademin...jag tänker onekligen på Harry Potter VS Ture Sventon av någon anledning =)

Michael is right. The reason energy companies do not want to utilize rooftops is because they can charge more $$$$ if they aren't using your rooftop. Heck, if they're using your rooftop, you might not want to pay your bill!

Every rooftop should have solar panels; big businesses and even small homes. In turn, we must consume less energy, and some of that starts with better design of some electrical products. And I'm sure we can design solar panels with mirrors on rooftops - who uses their rooftop on a daily basis anyway?

People think just because it's a desert, it's not a thriving eco-system, but it is. Let's not cut off the nose to save the face.

I have the iPod Touch 1st generation, wheras my brother is about to get the iPod Touch 2nd generation. I for one love both generations, because everyone in my school who has one has a 2nd generation. This week at Whole Foods my husband and I found a bag of mini chocolate bars from the Endangered Species Chocolate Company. I know that treehuggers are a cynical bunch, but I figure if it helps animals who cares if it is a marketing angle? Anyway I think it tastes better than most of those mini chocolate bars. As a knitter, quilter, all around textile nut, I hate to knit pick (hehehe), but synthetic fabrics are notorious for not being able to breathe like natural fibers. As a rule natural fibers are far superior to that of synthetics in wear and tear. Remember how bad leisure suits were (yuck!)? They were 100% synthetic. All of the greatest fabrics are natural ones (think cashmere, silk and yes, cotton).

The main reason companies like LL Bean and North Face use synthetics is because they're CHEAP (not because they can breathe)! After processing and weaving, and production, these jackets cost the company around $6 and after shipping the cost goes up to about $17.50. After that it's all profit, and usually these garment sell for around $150.

The jacket the author of this post owns is significant in value and in price. Natural wool that has to be carded and processes then spun and finally woven to be turned into a jacket is more expensive to produce. Being a natural fiber obviously makes it a better product. After production the jacket probably cost five times that of the synthetic to produce (around $70) and will outlast the synthetic two fold.

The most pressing issue at hand that I thought was overlooked was what Lars has said. The fact that these companies employ practically slave labor to make cheap garments is appalling, and btw we are paying a small fortune for them.

To be debating whether one synthetic jacket is better over another synthetic jacket in value is a moot point. They are both (#$%, one will just end up in the landfill faster then the next.

Well, it was good to read this article. In my engineering class we had a guest speaker from China who was a engineer on this dam, and he had nothing but good things to say about it.

Even though he quickly went through the downsides of building the project (relocation of millions, loss of historic places and artwork, and engineering elements that don't add up, and the energy might never be used but is nice to have on a rainy day), he made it seem that there was nothing wrong in building the Dam and the Chinese government is so advanced and forward thinking.

Very interesting.

I'm impressed that China hasn't arrested Mr. Yu, but I do wish him luck. It's good to question things.

I've always loved those geodome homes. I remember hiking with my Dad in the Oregon woods and we stumbled on one Geodome home and I told him I wanted to live in one.

I HATE ordinary suburban homes, and at the time our family lived in just that, and my father was quite offended at my taste and called me a "hippy" in a very mean way.

Now I live in an old Sears kit home and I have vowed NEVER to live in an ordinary McMansion! I love geodome homes, I would live in one in an heartbeat, if I could find one where I live.

Bees are amazing.

The average person has no idea how much the bee industry is worth in the US, but in China there are no more bees, due to their massive epidemic. And because of that, most of the fruit in China is pollenated by (human) hand, therefore the higher prices of fruit in China.

Without bees, we could not have fruit..... among other things.

I read the Cindy Crawford blog entry and was a little amused. Apparently, Cindy thinks hybrids are affordable for the average person (not really) and it makes me wonder what Ms. Crawford drive? She didn't say that she was driving a prius.

What I really hate is when celebrities push a cause (like going green) to help get out the message out, but look at their lifestyle! They waste more than anyone else on this planet because of their discretionary spending and carbon footprint. Being a "green" spokesperson is dangerous, because people expect you to practice what you preach, not just do little things.

Those "eco-resorts" are a great example. How are they saving nature by turning it into a resort; it still has a human footprint.

I am getting sick of greenwashing that wants me to believe if I want to save the environment I have to spend money. In reality, if you want to save the planet, spend less $$$$!

Corn and brussel sprouts already grow vertical and take up little room. You can espalier tomatoes and beans and melons can trail up a lattice.

What is shown above are small heavy producing vegetables that take up a small space; like lettuce, spinach etc. Melon and corn take WAY too much space for the nutritional value and at that point you have they would have to develop a hybrid seed.

Since this is space saving technology, it would only work for low growing dwarf varieties of plants, so yes some tomatoes could work (but not the best tasting tomatoes). Bush beans could work but obviously not melons as they need space for melons and leaves.

If you are talking about hybrid veggies and fruits, I just don't know if that would be kosher with everyone, some of those seeds haven't been developed and some people think that they shouldn't be developed. You can't change the growing techniques because certain plants need certain things to grow productively.

This might actually be a great idea for growing height challenged food. Using large acreage for growing an 8-inch plants in rows is just not very efficient.

I don't think gardening in this way is limiting in any way. You can grow strawberries, spinach and high vitamin food, and other low growing food that can benefit the home gardener very much. Anything that can maximize growing space and plant potential for food should be explored and is most benefitting to the home gardener who probably lives in the suburbs or city with not much space.

So it does have a use. And to boot you can fashion one of these things for free (with a little skill and imagination) - after all, growing food upwards is NOT a new idea. The problem is the kind of food you might be growing. Corn is low in vitamins and nutrition compared to spinach.

You need to hit the links. You will find most of them are aimed at the home gardener and are devices made of wood. The technologies are nothing more than wood and nails and need simple horticultural know-how to use.

What is so wrong growing up in a lab, that's how horticulturists learn to grow plants! IF your a teacher, you should not be so skeptical because you would know this technology is nothing new. BTW, do you grow plants? Hanging ferns perhaps?

My grandmother grew a victory garden and in turn taught me how to garden. She grew up in Texas and had large orange and lemon trees in her yard and she would tell me stories of being pregnant during WWII and how she would make herself fresh orange juice everyday!

I think, back then, because of storage issues, more people grew veggies and fruits. I guess it was just easier to ensure tomatoes that season if you grew them yourself rather than waiting on your grocer. Plus, most of the food was going to the soldiers or medical aid.

I have a friend with two children and she invites her friends children over for "play-dates" rather than letting her children find their own friends. She states that it's just safer and easier, but what does this do to her children's social development?

I don't have children, but sometimes I think our American society just doesn't like kids. We want to lock them up until they are 18 - out of sight, out of mind. We build few parks for them and the American suburbs is the most lonely place for a child.

In my small town of 50,000 we have 20 bars/pubs -no joke! The city was thinking of putting in one skate park, but no! All the adults were afraid all the juvenile delinquents would have a field day! What does this say to kids? You don't matter until you're an adult............

Those Sears kit homes are just beautiful! So well built and quaint and usually in great neighborhoods. That saying - "They don't build them like they used to", is so very true to modern homes being built now. They are so flimsy and stuccoed to infinity in areas where there shouldn't be stucco.

They great thing about those (kit) homes is even now, they are better insulated and designed than modern homes, but if you built one now it would probably cost more than building a 3,000 sq. ft. modern home. The detailing of these homes is just amazing and unparalleled with anything being made today (dare I say even architect digest homes?).

If I went to the store (used gas in my wagon) and bought a regular mass-manufactured loaf of bread, it would probably have 8x the carbon foot print because it was hauled in 400 miles from a bakery via a semi-truck. The grain from the store bought bread probably came 1500 miles away via a semi-truck as well not to mention the other ingredients (high fructose corn syrup!). And how much energy was put into growing the ingredients for the store bought bread?

Plus the store bought bread is probably less tasty and much less healthy.

I'll take her mini-van bread any day over the store bought.

Well, as you all know, I am a huge campaigner for bikes sharing the road with cars and vice versa. But tonight I change my mind.

I attend college at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. I get off late from school, my last class ends at 9 p.m. As I'm riding home, a soccer game was ending. I obey all the laws when riding to and from anywhere on my bike, stop at all the signs, etc.

In front of me is a professor with his wife and teenage daughter riding home from the game. They don't obey ANY of the rules and refuse to let me (the faster biker) pass. The Prof. literally pushes me INTO traffic, where, THANK GOD, the driver is paying attention to nutty Prof. and lets me have room to pass.

After a while I stop at a light, Nutty Prof. and family pass me, ignoring light and turn right veering into traffic. They weren't wearing helmets, didn't have lights or reflective anything.

The problem is, no matter how good a biker you are, someone is worse and those people leave impressions and consequently they are also the people who think they are doing no wrong. We have them in car drivers and in bike riders.

So it is a dilemma, but it's also life. So I guess we just have to just deal with it? BIKERS MUST KNOW THE RULES, not just for their safety, but for other bikers. I would never in my life do what that nutty Prof. did, it was just rude (and accessory to murder).

I agree with him on every point and I could see how architects could upset over this, but I think for too long many architects have been putting a "green" band-aid over their poorly designed buildings.

Hopefully this will force some architects to design really efficient and low impact buildings, and admit they cannot fool the common person into thinking what really is "green". Who knows, maybe the skyscraper is a thing of past..... let's hope!

Thank you for distinguishing the differences between Pacific Islanders and Asians. I am Filipino-American myself but I am not the typical ignorant ones you would see frolicking around here in America. My parents, born and raised in the Philippines, have always told me that Filipinos are Asian. They know who they are, what they are talking about, and had never fret of telling me so. They even told me that before they came here in America, this problem was never encountered. Not only that, in the Philippines, they are basically taught that they are Asian. The only people to really rely on about the history and culture are the people born and raised in the Philippines. Not once have I ever claimed myself as a Pacific Islander.

Honestly, I get really heated with this issue. Arguing with friends, strangers, and even with teachers. People are ignorant and are clueless about the values and culture of the Philippines. Many people here in America consider Asians only as Chinese, Koreans, or Japanese people... because those are the only Asian countries they know of! Little do they know about South East Asia including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc. As for East Asians having similarities with traditions and culture, so does South East Asia; which many are influenced by the Indian culture. I have asked a couple of people to name at least 10 different Asian countries, not including China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam, but none of them had successfully completed the task.

As for people who say," Filipinos are more Hispanic because of their last names." It's like saying African-Americans are Caucasian because they have white last names. African-Americans were brought to America from the slave trade. They were forced to changed their last names because they were owned like property by the whites. This relates to the history in the Philippines. Filipinos were controlled by the Spaniards for 300 years, names like "Perez", "Reyes", and what not are only their surnames. Also, The Philippines isn't the only country that has had been dictated in the past. France conquered Indochina which consisted of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Portugal controlled East Timor. Great Britain maintained authority in India, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and many more.

For people who state," Filipinos don't look Asian." That's completely and utterly due to ignorance. Do all Asians have to have a certain look? Many people think I am Korean. Even other Filipinos do not believe that I am Filipino. People should stop stereotyping.

- The Philippines are part of the South East Asian Nations.
- There are only a few percent of Filipinos with solid Hispanic heritage.
- The United States Census considers Filipinos as Asians.
- Studies had shown that Philippine ancestry was tied from Taiwan.
- Chams were an Asian tribe which traveled down southward. Vietnamese, Thai, Malay, and YES, Philippines, have a number of people of this tribe in their population.
- Chinese Artifacts were found in the Philippines which were ranging from approximately 5000-6000 A.D. This included Kinari threads which were Buddhist jewelry.

Jograd, you are simply irrational. Obviously you do not know who YOU are. Have you ever took the time to ask your parents if you were Asian? Have you ever learned much deeper into the Philippines? The Philippines is geographically and ethnically considered Asian. Read some books Fil-Ams. You can pick one up from your local library. Maybe you'll learn something! Stop taking excessive pride in something you know so little about. It is not a choice to consider yourself Asian or Pacific Islander. It is simply a fact that we are Asian. I've been reading and studying Columbine and other school shootings for a few years now. I was totally psyched to read this book, mine is in the mail on it's way to me right now. I then read the first few pages on Amazon.com and have already read a few inaccuracies. For being the "true" story, it already seems to make a lot of assumptions and I've only read 3 pages! I read some reviews from people obviously very familiar with Columbine as well, and I guess it's filled with assumptions. Damn it all!

Everytime I think of these poor children, my heart just sinks. I can't imagine what this man must have been thinking. The moments of terror those children must have felt - I just can't comprehend and my heart aches so much. I never knew the family. I feel so bad for all of them.

Ok Ben, I read Genesis 19. God, I can’t believe I used to read that shit! What did I think of it? It’s fucked up and perverted. The church will say that’s what it’s like today (whatever, do they mean we have too many gay people or that we have too many daughters sleeping with their fathers???) but then they will contradict themselves and say that the Old Testament is obsolete because “Jesus” became the intermediator between us and that “angry” God of the Old Testament. I just get so angry when I see all these obvious fallacies, can’t anyone else see this? Why are Christians so fucking blind?

You are so right Spacemonk, it IS such a catch22 situation. I know that my parents would probably either have a nervous breakdown or die of sorrow if their “religion” was taken away from them; they are so dependant on it. i am so infuriated with this story because my 5 year-old son has rode his bus before. and the fact that in 1995 he was accused of this before and what did the school system do, let him back on the bus with our kids. I realized today he was my bus driver back when he was accused the first time all, of a sudden he wasnt there one day and some kids on the bus were saying he got fired because he molesed some kids. i dont remember the details because i was 10 at the time. this is unbelievable i think the the rowan county schools should be held responsible for this, why was this man let back on the job as a bus driver to be around our kids after the first time. no telling how many other kids have been assaulted by this man, hopefully they will stand up and say something now.

Many of us forget that the Ecosystem is a crucial factor in any startup and to bring a change , we need to be a part of that ecosystem.

FACE TO FACE CONTACT is far better than VIRTUAL contact (through the high speed net or any other means)
Being in places like Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Banglore etc. gives you a chance to encounter different people and make new contacts (which is very important for a startup)

Hence true ....we have to join the change to make a change.

I normally have the TV, or music on while I'm doing other things. I'm not a fan of complete silence, unless I'm trying to meditate...but even then I sometimes have music on.

I have a few shows I watch religiously. Lost, The Office, 24, and Rescue Me. Other than that...I like flipping and catching bits, and pieces of other things. :)

Very truly stated......

Many of us forget that the Ecosystem is a crucial factor in any startup and to bring a change , we need to be a part of that ecosystem.

FACE TO FACE CONTACT is far better than VIRTUAL contact (through the high speed net or any other means)

Being in places like Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Banglore etc. gives you a chance to encounter different people and make new contacts (which is very important for a startup)

Hence true ....we have to join the change to make a change.

I hope I am not out of line when I say that you also look very sexy- in a totally natural, beautiful way.

I really love this look! I want to try it out myself. I just wonder how it will look on me, as I have an ample chest. I think you can pull it off much better than I can. Perhaps I will pick up a cheap version at Forever 21 to test it out (that's what I like to do with trends I am not sure of, so that I don't invest money in pieces I end up not wearing).

I actually love the gym and playing soccer. 90 minutes of running is one of the best work outs around. Swimming is tough too!

I think that is one of the MOST beautiful sunsets that I have ever seen!

Today (well, really yesterday) I had some mommy time this morning and got a pedicure. Then I went out with the kids to deliver some prints and pick up a birthday present for a party this afternoon. Photographed a 1 year olds birthday party. Came home dog tired and headed to bed!

I would love to read about this! I loved the pic you posted the other day of you wearing the girls. I have four kids four and under. I was wondering if you ever wore 2 of your boys together... or do you just wear the girls together because they are twins? I have a 16 month old and a 2 month old that both love to be held.

Also, what sling is best for nursing in? My boys like to run wild right when I sit down to nurse... (I think they know that I can't run after them!) It would be nice to be able to play with the boys while nursing our little girl!

Haven't used non stick for something like 10 years and I have never regretted it. One tip: 'hot pan, cold oil, food won't stick' says the old proverb. Get your pan well heated before adding the oil and the eggs will come off rather nicely. my hubby does it all the time with cast iron skillet or stainless steel.

Well, I think I am along the line of Bouf up there, since we only eat food from scratch which is made by moi. The family comprises only 6 of us but since we have an open house, my recipes need to be QUITE aboundant as, at any time, one to three extra people might be there for a meal...

Rosemaray Garbanzo Bean Soup
3 Tabs olive oil
2 medium onions, chopped
2 bell peppers, chopped (green or yellow are best, for aesthetic value)
2 rosemary sprigs (the more the merrier)
2 Tabs balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar
4 large garlic cloves
2 large pinches of red pepper flakes (more or less, to taste)
30 oz. of diced tomatoes
32 oz. of cooked chick peas/grabanzo beans
6 cups of stock (chicken or vegetable)
salt and pepper

Heat oil over medium high heat. Add onion, bell pepper, garlic and pepper flakes, along with half the rosemary (fresh is really best for flavour). Cook stirring occasionally until the onion is soft, circa 5-8 minutes.

Add tomatoes and their juice (canned tomatoes work fine), along with garbazo beans and stock. Bring to a boil, cover and let simmer anywhere from 5 minutes to 40, whatever time frame you are working with. Mince remaining rosemary and add, along with vinegar and whatever is left. Serve with GOOD crusty bread and you have a lovely, filling meal.

So good to read about a REAL mother who is leaving a REAL mother life ; ) I think it hits us all, sooner or later, maybe cyclically, because there comes a time when there is just TOO much that needs to be done and we are just TOO worn out to tackle it all. Plus, we WANT to do it well, which doesn't help. I am with you: I write it down, and somehow, it already makes it three times easier to do! At times I EVEN read back and wonder what was wrong with me, why in the world did I become such a whiner when things are back in shape and I seem to be able to juggle all the normal things & people with *ease*. It's amazing how inadequate sleep just wrecks my world : )

I made the same "drug" mistake with my 1st. Funny thing is I was still awake all night cause the labor pains were keeping me awake. So, I was awake all night "fighting" sleep and sleep medicines and in labor. ICK! I swore I would never make that mistake again. Here I thought it was gonna help me get a good night sleep and all it did was make a miserable night more miserable. LOL! Fortunately it wore off by the next day. Since it was my first the labor was L O N G, so the sleep meds were gone from my system when I had him. Poor thing. I had nausea/vomiting with both of my labors I feel your pain. Not fun when you are trying to have a baby! Mine was due to the Hormone changes during labor.

That is one of the first things I started praying for was that she would nurse well for you. I know you had mentioned in past posts that you had planned on nursing. I am so HAPPY she is picking up on it so well for you. I have been thinking about you all week and praying for you just as well! I am so happy to see things seem to be progressing well. Roxanne put things very well. I agree. My SIL is a NICU nurse. Babies come in there way early. By 36 weeks and on the baby is just gaining weight. Most of the crucial development is usually though! You will be fine in the Dr.'s Care just REST while you still can. I hope this labor with go smooth and problem free for you and your darling little girl! HUGS & prayers going your way!

I can honestly relate with you on the moving when pregnant thing. We were living in the Navy Lodge when I had my son and two days later moved into housing. I totally agree 120% with your post. This woman and her elitist attitude can go to the dump for all I care. People qualify for WIC based on their income. If you qualify for it and use it well then GOOD FOR YOU! That is what it is there for to help out. I wear designer clothes, have a new car and tote designer purses. From the outside you may not think I would be eligible for WIC. REALITY- My kids get the new clothes I shop CLEARANCE at designer children's places the season and year before and at Target for their clothes, my "designer" clothes/accessories are most likely from a store like ROSS or Marshalls or better yet EBAY. Definitely not a department store. Mall??? What is that. I hardly go maybe once a year or to go in to the Apple store for my computer. With gas prices the way they are you will find more and more folks using these programs such as WIC. My kids drink goat's milk because they have issues with digesting milk. Right now it is $3.25 a quart. That comes to $13.00 a gallon. .10 cents an ounce. OUTRAGEOUS!! When they were infants my milk went dry at 5 months and I had to put them on formula. EXPENSIVE formula. It was close to $100 a week to feed them just on formula. You bet your butt I used WIC and gladly. Sometimes people may "Appear" one way on the outside but who is to judge. Just because someone looks nice and cares for themselves doesn't mean they aren't eligible. Not everyone who uses WIC has to be the stereotypical dirty, poor, lice infested individual that people like to imagine use these programs GEESH! Yeah, they may wear designer clothes but I guarantee you that they didn't pay designer prices for them and most likely if you know anything about fashion they are most likely way last season or older. (at least mine are) I think we all have been guilty at one point or another with mismanaging our finances and for anyone who is so perfect to believe that they never ever have mismanaged things or needed/accepted help in some form or another. PLEASE give me a call and fill me in on the secret. Until then NO ONE has a right to be so judgmental. Can you tell this subject hit a nerve with me? LOL! OK back to happy land now! HUGS!

OH my heart just sank reading the first words of this. I was in tears! Now this is the mom in my, "You stay off your feet girly, don't do Anything but rest!" Both of my pregnancies were very difficult. I cannot have anymore because of that but am thankful for the two wonderful children God blessed me with (Girl-3 Boy-5) I will be keeping you and your family even more frequently in my prayers. LOL! You want to know something funny LOL! Well, not really funny but IRONIC! The day after I left this comment I go to my front door and notice a paper in the door. LOL! I am laughing at the irony of this while I type. The paper stated that the water on base failed inspection and there are organic and inorganic material in the water. My imagination is going wild with this. ICK!! HEre is verbatim what part of the letter said:"You do not need to use an alternative water supply. This is not an immediate risk. If it had been you would have been notified immediately. However some people who use water containing trihalomethanes in excess of the MCL over many years may experience liver, kidney or central nervous system problems, and may have an increased risk of getting cancer. If you have health issues concerning the consumption of this water, you may wish to consult your doctor." I am curious as to how many YEARS you could have these symptoms after. We have been here 6 already! What the HECK! GOSH!

We have that very one and we LOVE it! It is a great investment. My hubby and I LOVE to watch movies. We have the surround sound as well! It is fun to put the kids to bed and have a movie night together. We got it with a tax rebate and haven't regretted it since. It actually SAVES us money cause we don't waste money on going to the movies. We wait until they come out and watch them on our own "Theater" I guess it is all on how you look at it. If you aren't one to spend the $40-50 on theater tickets maybe it isn't such a good investment. We figure $40-50 on entertainment twice a month adds up in a year's time that is about $1200.00 in a year. So for us it made sense to keep out of the theater and the restaurants and spend the time at home together as a family! HUGS!

I am on your side! I also have an incredible fear of sharks...including the whole swimming in a pool when it's dark out phobia...you just never know! So yeah, I think the world would be much better without them, and much safer. Michelle claims my phobia comes from watching too many shark attack shows and knowing too much about the odds of what kind of shark will most likely attack me where, but I would much rather be safe than sorry. I'm still unsure about this whole "snorkeling" in Thailand thing...even though I did research it and the only sharks in Thailand are whale sharks, which aren't even technically sharks (they eat plankton). Anyways, I'm glad we share this common fear...and no it's not irrational.

Hey! WOW thats a good weight and height. My daughter is almost 20 months and 20.12 lbs and 32 inches.

I do hypertonic. I will say that I had to move only doing it once a day b/c it was causing me to lose my voice. I do cough alot more now on a regular basis than I did before -but thats what your suppose to do right lol.

As for albuteral in an inhaler -hate it. Most CFers I know do. Yeah you get shorter treatment time BUT it doesn't seem to work as well.

YAY FOR EATING. I have a failure to thrive baby myself, and she eats BUT only wants to do it herself. I find she has the best luck with a real fork vs a toddler fork too.

OOO try avacodo & banana...its one of her favs and avacado is really fattening. (you can mix it in yobaby yogart too)

How old is he now? Are you still breastfeeding?

O we do vanilla carnation in our house -she loves it.

big hugs! I know how you feel. Im not a cf momma...but a cfer. I do remember all the troubles my family went through when I was growing up, it was hard to see that and no it was all my fault.

We too are having money problems....though not from my med bills...just life in general.

As for insurance...I remember that stuggle too. My parents had to stay broke enough to keep me on government help...which wasn't easy.

As for now...my husband is in the army. 100% coverage and it makes us a little less stressed.

New York är underbart! va där med skolan i april det här året och det var den bästa upplevelsen i mitt liv! Första gången på Times Square är något man verkligen aldrig glömmer! Jag älskar dina videoblogg, men kan du inte skriva inlägg ibland också?
