I'd been using a projector now and then to put up setlists, but usually don't because it's too much hassle and distracts from djing in the moment - this looks like a great way to automate it and not have to think about/pay attention to one more thing.

Re: This New Vulnerability: Dowd’s Inhuman Flash Exploit

@Toni Ruottu gnash has had its share of vulnerabilities in the past and there's no reason to believe people wouldn't go looking for more more if it were more widely deployed, e.g.:

http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/23765

As it stands, last time I tried to use it not only did it not play flv pr0n-in-a-browser but it also failed miserably with homestarrunner.com - which are basically the two reasons to even bother with flash anyway.

Re: My Pentest Secret: Password Guessing

Oldest methods are still some of the most reliable. ;) Landreth's Out of the Inner Circle is mostly a documentation of password guessing strategies, shunning notions of bruteforcing as something a true hacker wouldn't do. Good to know that 24 years after even that was published, old techniques are still effective. ;)

Re: Hard Knox Cafe!

Huh, if you want a vegan po boy - the vegan tempeh po boy @ Weird Fish is AWESOME!

Sadly, it's no longer listed on their menu [apparently they ran into problems with their tempeh supplier a while back] but if you as for it [during lunch at least, never tried at dinner] they will often be able to make it. It's super awesome; highly recommended!

Re: Souley Vegan!

Bummer! SF sucks for late night and early morning vegan dining. So annoying.

Re: Amici's!

Whoa... At least for about a year after they removed it from the menu they would still make it on request; no longer.

But best brunch in SF? Maybe... however east bay's Felini tops it for me.

Re: Pi Place: New Pizza in the Mission!?

Just ate at Pizza Pi on Saturday; and the same owner also now runs Wayward Cafe. Both were great! At Pizza Pi they use teese from Chicago, but also have a white garlic sauce as an option that they make in house - it was pretty rad! Also vegan caesar and ranch salad dressings.

There are decent vegan pizza options in the bay area though: in Berkeley: Felini, Pizza Plaza, Lanesplitters, Zante's (crazy indian pizza ftw), Amici's (though their gluten free dough isn't vegan), and I've heard some of the Pizza Extreme locations, but I haven't tried any yet. I had some friends point me towards Paxti's - but they use a soy cheese that still has casein in it (as they informed me when I went to pick up an order of 3 pizzas for a party, d'oh!).

I wish Little Star did a vegan pizza actually - cornmeal crust deep dish? That'd be way better than some other joint just coming out with another whatever flat pie.

Re: Philz Coffee vs. Rodger's Coffee and Tea!

You can blame my friend's wife for the vegan stuff @ Rodgers. They used to live in one of the apartments up stairs and after they opened shop and she grabbed coffee from there and they couldn't sell her any goodies because none were vegan, they came up with some that were!

Awesome stuff!

Re: Violet Sweet Shoppe

A friend brought a bunch of these to toorcamp a couple weeks back.
