in Auto Fail on Laughing Squid
While clever, it is a little unfair since Ford is actually in the best shape out of the Big 3. Those in the know agree that Ford's plans for the next few years are the most solid out of the bunch, and they might not even need any money from the government (though they are asking for $9 billion just in case... that must be nice).

Anyway, I know facts shouldn't get in the way of a good joke.

Glad you had a good time, Frank. I was great seeing you!

The secret to my success: heavy drinking before the show.

I second Marisa's gladness that you're enjoying our silly little show. Fork You is supported by Viewers Like you. ;)

Thanks, Frank! I'm just a jackass trying to make sense of stuff in this wacky world or ours (and sometimes I am sooo close to doing it).

in What the hell is up with our kids today? on Scobleizer
He sure is a motivated kid, though a lot of his podcast seems to be reading TUAW stories... which my bloggers wrote. Not sure how I feel about that.

in What should I put on my Apple TV? on Scobleizer
If you like food (and who doesn't?) I would suggest you check out:

http://www.forkyou.tv

The fact that I am a co-host/co-creator has nothing to do with this suggestion. ;)

I don't have an Apple TV yet... I would be curious to know what it looks like displayed on your giant TV.

in Live from Viddler HQ, again on Colin Devroe
I have not worked with either of those fellows. I'm something of a cyber hermit.

Very cool about Viddler starting at Lehigh. Go Engineers (or Mountain Hawks, if you must)!

Hey, did anyone on the Viddler team go to Lehigh? I'm class of '99. :)

in Bad PR for Dell but not for Apple? on Scobleizer
I would point that you could have returned the MacBook Pro:

http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/salesp...

Apple charges a fairly standard 10% restocking fee which is actually cheaper than Best Buy's 15% fee:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site//olspage.jsp?type=p...

Of course I think restocking fees are lame, they are an industry standard.

Businesses probably spring for Pro Care:

http://www.apple.com/retail/procare/

Though I wasn't talking about you getting a replacement on the spot (a lot of that is left to the discretion of the Genius) but rather to the idea that an Apple rep would call/email you personally. That may happen since you're a well known blogger, but most folks don't get that kind of treatment.

in Never piss off a 12-year-old on Scobleizer
It does seem like you are asking for special treatment here. This is Apple's standard why of handling issues like this. They did it for my MacBook (though it only took one day to fix that). I also have a MacBook Pro that has never had an issue, as well as 2 iMacs, a Cube, a Titanium PowerBook and an Aluminum Powerbook all that were problem free.

Whenever an expensive piece of equipment malfunctions you always feel like the company that is responsible is doing a bad job.. that's just human nature. Is it worthy of being covered by the Wall Stree Journal? Not so much.

Doh, you answered my version of Windows question in the first line of the post. If only I knew how to read. Though, which version of Vista? Enterprise, Business, Ultimate?

in Smart person’s debate of OSX vs. Windows Vista on Scobleizer
As a Windows sysadmin and a fairly well known Mac blogger, this seems a little silly to me. Other OSes have their strengths and their weaknesses (and which version of Windows would the Windows folks be demoing? Vista? XP? Media Center? 2003? @003 64 bit?

in Blog cause you want to (and include sex in your headlines) on Scobleizer
This may be silly... but have you considered just blogging for yourself? It doesn't even cross my mind that other people are reading my personal blog, that's just for me (though others do read it. I don't know what they think about it).

Of course my work on TUAW is entirely for others to read, good thing it is about a subject I am passionate about.

in Apple’s PR is "blame it on Microsoft" on Scobleizer
You're right about Apple's response being ill phrased, but the Apple problem child is the MacBook, not the MacBook Pro. So far I haven't heard anyone having big problems with their MBPs (i.e. 10% of them don't randomly shutdown).

in Anil has a post every blogger should read on Scobleizer
I read Anil's post the other day and meant to talk about it. Blogging has always been about making connections to me, whether it be with friends or with my mom (who reads my blog everyday). Even though I know that everyone I work with, hang out with, or am related to reads my blog I just write what I feel. I let it flow, because when it comes right down to it I am writing for an audience of one: me.

in Philadelphia Meetups on Colin Devroe
The Philly Bloggers' Meetup is very laid back. Just an excuse to get together with some bloggers and eat a little, and drink a little. We hardly even talk about blogs (but some blog talk does sneak in).

The Wordpress group tends to be a little more on point because Owen is just better at damn near everything than I am. :)

MarsEdit for the Mac, without a doubt:

Almost every post at Blankbaby was written using it (though I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing).
