in Watford v Reading - The Phantom Goal on Footytube.com
the linesman thought that when the reading player hit the bar, it hit the underside of it, so he gave it as a goal.
The ball hitting the underside of the crossbar does not warrant a goal. The entirety of the ball must pass the entirety of the line. Just because it hits the underside, it does not mean this happened. No where in the rules does it say a ball hitting the underside of the crossbar is a goal. If it were to bounce off and then cross the goal line, then it would be a goal.

in Mexico 1 - 4 Argentina on Footytube.com
When will Mexicans realize that they are far from great? For a country with a huge population and such a devoted following of the sport, they should be much, much better. However, countries with much smaller populations and with other popular sports (i.e. Czech Republic with hockey) are incredibly better.

Even though Lehmann let in two, that first save was class.

Wow, what beautiful goals by Gomis. He's so young too, right? My money is not on France for Euro '08 though. My money is either on Spain or Portugal, even though I don't particularly care for either.
rvg, we all know the true language of love is Italian, not French! haha

in Champions League Final 99 - Bayern Vs. Man U on Footytube.com
Even as a Liverpool supporter I can admit this was a good final, but as many have said above, Liverpool and Milan '05 was a better final. I'd probably give this the second best I've ever seen.

in C.Ronaldo - The Proof on Footytube.com
As a Liverpool supporter I can say that Ronaldo is in a league of his own. I don't think there is a player in the world who can compare to his sheer talent.
The scary thing is he is so young. Imagine what he has the potential to be when he gets to be 26-30 years old.

in Uefa Cup Final: Zenit v Rangers on Footytube.com
Out of all the sides playing in Europe including the Champion's League, Zenit have by far been the most entertaining. I am very glad they won this trophy. They strongly deserve it.
One thing I can say though is that I will be very surprised if Arshavin stays there next year. I imagine one of the top European sides that desperately need wingers will pick him up (i.e. pay special attention to Liverpool, Milan, etc.).

in Drogba - The Prodigious Elephant on Footytube.com
There is no doubt that Drogba is one of the most talented footballers in the world, but I cannot stand him for a few reasons. He is one of the most unprofessional footballers I have ever seen. I've never seen someone complain as much or sit *** down on the turf as much as he does. Until he can over come this, regardless of his talent, he will never be top notch in my book.

in Zenit St Petersburg v Bayern Munich on Footytube.com
In all European competition, including the Champion's League, I think Zenit have played the best football. Almost every game they've played it has been absolutely thrilling to watch. The only thing that could have been more thrilling is if Arshavin were playing. He would have made the score line more than 4-0. I don't see how Rangers stand a chance against them.
Well deserved draw for chelsea.
What happened to the "12th" man when the equaliser went in, couldnt hear a pin drop. So much for the tremendous home support created by the media:((
Quite possibly one of the dumbest comments on here.
Watch it again. You'll hear them singing loudly as soon as the match is called, which was immediately after the own goal.

I am not attacking Riise for his own goal but rather for his decision to head the ball. It was already coming to his feet. Why not just kick it out? Let's say he hadn't headed into his own net, he would have headed straight to Drogba.

ray- i have to say there are a ridiculous amount of bandwagoners. but to say we all are is wrong. i get ****** at united bandwagoners, they make the real fans look stupid. and there are arsenal and chelsea bandwagoners as well. there are plenty for RM and Barca too.
Yeah, definitely. I wasn't saying you who respond or read this are, though. It's pretty sad. I think part of it is because I am in the states, and here they don't realize the passion and devotion it takes to be a supporter.

By the way does anyone notice how good Nani is becoming:-?
Yeah, even as a Liverpool supporter I don't see how someone could argue he isn't the best in the world. His attitude annoys me some times, though.

My last point brought me to another.
I am not commenting on any of you and your support of United. Rather, I am going to comment about the support where I live, Houston. It astounds me how many people claim to be "United supporters" here, but in actuality I know more about the club and its history as a Liverpool supporter. All of these people showed up at my bar yesterday with their United jerseys, but they've never shown up for a game before. I tried talking with a few, but it was useless.
It seems that here it has become and bandwagon club. The teenagers who play local "soccer" pick United because of their current run of success. If I were a United supporter, like you, this would scare me. I also noticed that there were almost no supporters over the age of 30, which also lead me to believe it has become a bandwagon club.
Any idea on this for those of you living in the states or outside of England like myself?
liverpool has a squad enough to win tropies, but it's just one factor that they lack. x-factor.
notice how recent years, liverpool is always showing how great a squad they have on paper, and don't produce what they were expected in the first half of the season, then comes the late rush of forms which is already too late for anything except a champions league spot. then comes the next season, and they get active in the market again, then players have to get used again, and the stories goes in circles again. rafa's system is very good for late season gust of staminas, but not during the first half of the season when players need to blend.
I don't agree with this. I could be wrong, but it seems you are arguing we have, when it comes to spending, a similar squad to yours. If so, that is not true at all. Liverpool have maybe four top class big money players in Gerrard, Torres, Mascherano, and Carragher. You don't need me to point out that you guys have more than that.
If you take this into consideration and the fact that we won the champion's league and the FA Cup it is quite remarkable. We don't have the money that the other top 4 clubs have, yet we still manage to win trophies.
Based on the fact that we have been fairly successful with much less money than you, I believe Liverpool can return to the glory days once more money comes in. You'll see the world's best club like it was before most of you can probably remember.
