The one that controls the platform controls the apps. I believe that social apps will show the way, but we need to stay focused and learn to build a successful platform.

Re: Bloggers at OpenWorld

Thank you Justin for making this happen. I believe Walmart got in trouble for using paid bloggers.
My point is that most Web 2.0 tools are made to be abused as marketing tools. The trust your peer model, is ultimately not so trustworthy.

Re: A Can of Worms

Michael K.,

sorry if my comments was misunderstood. My comments were not directed at Jeff. I was talking in general about so called marketing companies that take advantage of the Web 2.0 world. I have a friend that runs one of this companies. You basically hire his service to promote a product. He has a team in India that will start fake Blogs, create fake reviews, participate in forums adding marketing information about the product. He claims that this is how Enterprise should leverage Web 2.0 for marketing. He actually has a many success stories. I personally don't like this approach, but I can't ignore it.

Re: Back from OpenWorld

It was sad that nobody other then Tim Bonnemann, Ralf Dossmann and myself (all Oracle employees) showed up for the unconference session with Mark Finnern. We had a great discussion on Global Communities and the cultural challenges in building this communities. Tim took some very good notes about the session. http://wiki.oracle.com/page/Developing+a+Global...

Re: So Very Tired

I don't understand what the big deal is. I thought it was kind of lame. Do you think that it will work better at OOW?

Re: Topper’s Voting Widget

Last I have heard they have as much 25 slots for this sessions. I'm going to get somebody to give you more details today. Or ask your question directly on the Open World Blog http://blogs.oracle.com/oracleopenworld/. I'm sure somebody will answer the question there as well.

Re: Topper’s Voting Widget

The Events team are all out attending an internal event.
