in Collok.com Manages Your OpenWorld Schedule on Oracle AppsLab
I agree with Jake, Collok would be a pretty good story, if we can't help improve our current offering. And Matt, your hired!

in Play Name the Platform on Oracle AppsLab
Hi Shishir,
since my suggestion for an enterprise application is 'snazzy'. I want to suggest to use this URL http://www.hackslash.net/?page_id=48 every 3rd click I see an innovating Web 2.0 name :).

Last I have heard they have as much 25 slots for this sessions. I'm going to get somebody to give you more details today. Or ask your question directly on the Open World Blog http://blogs.oracle.com/oracleopenworld/. I'm sure somebody will answer the question there as well.

in Pour Some Gas on the Fire (Eagle) on Oracle AppsLab
So the Web 2.0 Expo used it this year. I thought it was kind of lame. Do you think that it will work better at OOW?

Yeah, Fireball did a private beta. The Fire Eagle team said they may be public by then, which should drive app development. Right now, nothing seems to be working. Assuming Firebot comes back or there's another Twitter-based app, I think that would useful. Would make it way easier to do ad hoc meetups.

It was sad that nobody other then Tim Bonnemann, Ralf Dossmann and myself (all Oracle employees) showed up for the unconference session with Mark Finnern. We had a great discussion on Global Communities and the cultural challenges in building this communities. Tim took some very good notes about the session. http://wiki.oracle.com/page/Developing+a+Global...

Michael K.,
sorry if my comments was misunderstood. My comments were not directed at Jeff. I was talking in general about so called marketing companies that take advantage of the Web 2.0 world. I have a friend that runs one of this companies. You basically hire his service to promote a product. He has a team in India that will start fake Blogs, create fake reviews, participate in forums adding marketing information about the product. He claims that this is how Enterprise should leverage Web 2.0 for marketing. He actually has a many success stories. I personally don't like this approach, but I can't ignore it.

I think Enterprise 2.0 will mean to some, ghost written blogs/reviews/wikis/forums/digg entries. I believe Walmart got in trouble for using paid bloggers.
My point is that most Web 2.0 tools are made to be abused as marketing tools. The trust your peer model, is ultimately not so trustworthy.

The game will be played at the platform level. The one that controls the platform controls the apps. I believe that social apps will show the way, but we need to stay focused and learn to build a successful platform.
