in Do consumers want free calls? on LucaFiligheddu.com
Markus,
in my previous article I've disclosed that Sitofono is from my company, so I haven't expressed any comment on it. Moreover, Sitofono is for business, it's not a product for consumers. It was just an example of "value added service" that is provided through VoIP.

You can easily take a look at any of my posts. When I mention one of the products from my companies, I always disclose it. In addition, I can confirm that my post about free calls was in the feet of a particular user, belonging to a particular category of users, not those who want to call to pakistan for free, but a different one.

I just expressed my humble opinion AS A USER, not as a professional. With the hat of a VoIP professional, I can say that free calls are not the solution for ISPs, it's not a long-term strategy.

Thanks for your comments and for reading my blog :-)

You are right. In my post, I meant the N-series that I've tried so far. Thanks for pointing this out.

in EXCLUSIVE: Gizmo on Nokia N80i and E61i in Italy on LucaFiligheddu.com
Fosk, this is a different news. Gizmo was already available on N80i as you say, but this is a special initiative where you will get credit and it will be available on E61i also.

in Jon Arnold on why VoIP has succeeded on LucaFiligheddu.com
Jon, thank you very much for commenting!

Two more comments on my side: yes, here in italy and in other countries in Europe Skype means VoIP.. peer to peer is a concept still far from "normal" users.. Moreover, I agree that Skype and Vonage are much different. In my industry perspective during VON 2006 I had stated that, to me, Vonage is "traditional telephony", since the user experience is exactly the same.

In conclusion, a lot of great points came out from this discussion that potentially could go forward again and again.

For the time being, thank you very much for your contribution!

in SkypePrime: an old idea on LucaFiligheddu.com
Alon, I agree, most part of the world economy is based on paid services.

The point is to understand who is paying for what and where. Over the internet, big spenders are companies which want to get visibility and acquire new customers.

Take a look at Google search results to find tons of them among sponsored links.

"Normal" users, a part from a meager percentage (respect to the total internet users), are not willing to pay. They are used to get everything for FREE. And, over the internet, information and knowledge are the first "goods" which people know they can find for free.

For this reason, I'm not confident in this kind of services. Anyway, I'll stay tuned.

Of course, it would be great to have some "real" numbers from you in order to know if it works or not. I would be happy if you can demonstrate I'm wrong. Really happy :-)

Thanks for commenting, much appreciated.

Ok, but you don't get more. Moreover, is Voipstunt related to your DSL provider ? Have you other services like presence, voicemail and so on ?

Naked "voice" is not enough. IMHO, of course.

Markus, I totally agree. But we are still far from the picture you are painting.

"Works" mean that must be accepted in Itunes and you should correctly view it on iTunes. Anyway, there are a lot of applications which can easily convert your videos into AppleTV / Itunes format.

Not really. I can play whatever video works with iTunes. Like my MPEG2 or MPEG4 personal videos, for instance.
