Robert, your idea to take some time off is a good one. You are attracting an audience that isn't the one you want. A little down time to consider how you might attract a different audience sounds like time well spent. We attract what we put out there.

A personal karma adjustment by you would be a service to your readers, as well.

Do we really believe Dave's side of the story? That lawyer letter seemed to be a lot more tense than Dave's story. So either the lawyer went over the top, or Dave's lying -- you pick.

The Republican Senate confirmed him. They also confirmed Brown, and we know how that turned out.

I disagree on the point about the DHS. Fighting terrorism has been around for YEARS. How about selecting someone who is an expert in terrorism and not a lawyer who co-wrote the Patriot Act. Hell, someone from the INS would be better qualified, because they would understand how people try and get into this country legally and illegally.

"King: Microsoft is 67,000 people. Why do you assume my words transfer to the entity as a whole?"

Robert, isn't that your readers think? You are paid to be an evangelist for Microsoft, right? A kind of ombudsman. Dammit, your site title says "Microsoft Geek Blogger."

I also think MySpace is surffering from the "not invented here" syndrome because it didn't come out of Silly Valley or Seattle or Boston. But time has shown that most "tech" companies don't get media, and MySpace is a media company.

My point is that if you're going to be at that level of government, you should be held accountable for your actions. People died because of the lack of action by FEMA and Homeland Security. Whether he was on the job for one week, one month or one year is besides the point -- if he isn't qualified to do the job, he shouldn't be there. Period.

First you have to get the headline right, Scoble. Alot of what is happening over there at MySpace is not about the traffic but about the audience -- they have a very captive audience that thinks that the blogesphere is a waste of time, because where they are at, the audience is much larger. Second, it's about companies listening to that audience. Microsoft would do well if they actually looked at MySpace and figured out what the kids were doing, because that's Microsoft's next set of customers. MySpace is responding to the needs of it's audience, and keeping them captive, and not treating them as "well, they have lousy pages and poor quality, I don't want to listen to them."

Frankly, Robert, it's your kind of thinking that's killing microsoft -- intellectual dishonesty, missing the trends that are happening today.

in Tips for joining the A list on Scobleizer
You know what I would like to see? A-listers that actually read blogs and search out blogs that are not A-listers.

These blogs are the one's that make the A-listers possible, and many times all I see are A-listers cross linking with A-listers. That's what makes it hard, because there's a bit of a clique just like in anything in life. Many times, Robert, all I see is you linking to other A-listers and friends. It's really up to people like you to encourage the growth of the blogesphere, and linking to your friends (as Om malik does), doesn't encourage that.

Got one. It's worth every penny. The size is just unbelievable, and other than the memory, you can't tell the different from a normal iPod, quality wise.

And a great color screen.
