I've even suggested it to the head of 360. I've a frustrated 360 user that is tired of waiting for Yahoo to finally come out with the "Universal Profile System" to replace 360.

You didn't mention that WordPress powers most of Yahoo's corporate blogs. Yahoo's small business devices also heavily promotes WordPress as a blogging option for Yahoo's web hosting customers.

Re: 2007/11/23/im-meets-social-networking-with-yahoo-mym/

Sigh...Yahoo continues to move in so many different diretions at once. I wonder if this is taking away from resources that could be devoted to their "univeral profile system" that will be replacing 360.

Re: 2008/03/13/social-networking-statistics-2/

Where does Multiply fit into all of this? I would expect it to be ranked higher than Yahoo! 360.

Re: Yahoo and Apple Merger?

I've been reading rumors on TechCrunch that Apple wants to get into search. It also seems to me that Steve Jobs is everything that Jerry Yang is not in terms of a corporate visionary with experience to turn around a company. It would also seem to me that Yahoo's engineers could help Apple fix the problems with Mobleme for the iPhone. With Yahoo trading around $10 a share, now might be a good time for Apple to move in.

Re: Is Blogging Enough?

Speaking of video, your article prompted and interesting idea from my wife/paralegal. i am thinking of ordering tapes of a couple of my recent 341 meetings, transcribing it into a script and making a video show a reenact a real 341 meeting. It would be part of an effort to show the clients what really goes on on order to prepare them for the meeting of creditors.

I already upload my TV appearances to YouTube and post them on my blog, but this gives me a whole new perspective on how to use video as a promotion too.

Re: A Rose By Any Other Name …

Keep it simple and stick with the Practice Pro because it is a bit of an established brand name for you. I have a couple of ideas. First, drop the BK to show you are broadening your base and go with something like Legal Practice Pro or some variant of the first word to appeal to a larger audience.

Second, you might play on your affiliation with Solo Practice University...something like Solo Practice Pro.

Finally, I will throw back some of your own advice to you: pick a name that identifies you with your target market. If you're target audience small firms or solos, then Solo Practice Pro might work for you.

Re: Legal Marketing Tip From Charles Emerson Winchester III

On the other hand, the lesson that Dr. Winchester needed to learn is that he needed to adapt to the realities of “meatball surgery”. While Charles was plodding along as outlined above, other patients were waiting in the triage. The other M*A*S*H surgeons had learned how to do things well in a timely manner so that other patients did not suffer unnecessarily.

Dr. Winchester was a skillful surgeon, but he was not very efficient. Doing one thing very well is fine...but doing things efficiently, even if you have multiple practice, can be fine too if the message is focused and the client understands the benefits.

Re: Using twitter as a Lawyer

Cool...I'm getting famous!
