in The ALP plan to censor the internet on duncanriley.com
I was just about to comment about the cable provider, and I checked their prices! Actually really cheap, but I'm lucky because I'm in a cabled estate, a rarity, and it's only cabled because it's new. I'm thinking given it's to costly to break my Telstra contract that I'll drop down to their minimum $29.95 a month plan and sign up with the Cable guys, given I can get 2mps and 40gb for $64.95 per month or $44.95 for 10gbs (at that speed though I'd want 40 :-) ), works out cheaper than going to 1.5mps ADSL even having to maintain a basic ADSL account.

That's less than half of what I'm paying.

$69.95/ month for 512kpbs. If I want to go to 1.5mps which I'm seriously considering doing, $99.95/ month (all AUD). 10gb max download then it's shaped back to something like 72kps on both plans. If I wanted 20gb per month I'd be looking at something like $130ish.

in Steve Rubel is right: It’s Not About the Traffic on duncanriley.com
Darren,
you make a good point. Brian, its why I didn't even mention you in the post, because I agree with what Steve is saying, but Im not exactly sure what it has to do with you, outside of the fact he thinks you're link bait I guess?

in The anti-RSS hype on Scobleizer
Actually, just spent some more time reading your post and the Slashdot/ Yahoo piece: Microsoft should buy you some glasses Robert because the report says only 4% of people are aware they are using RSS but 27% of people use it, or as they call is "an unaware RSS user". Try reading the report.

And imagine how much more quicker it would be for you to skim them all if they were all partial feeds!

in The demise of Six Apart? on Paul Jacobson
I've got to agree with Ruby's comments, SixApart did shoot themselves in the foot, and its public record that despite making some ammendments, they never apologised for what they did, and hence I've personally never forgotten, and changed to WordPress because of it. Interesting though that Spaces hasn't been heard of yet by some, they've really targeted the teen market really well, particularly with the Messenger link-in. If they can do this in such a short time, as I state in the post, just wait till they tackle serious blogging. Microsoft is literally a web steamroller, and nearly everyone in their path are mere mice.
