What is the point of jumping ship? Everybody's rate is going to be cut.

And 20 minutes for work? Please...Maybe for you guys, but because of my set up I personally would not be able to make these changes. I would need to contact all the places that I have either direct depositing of withdrawing from my ING account and update routing and account numbers.

Now I don't know how much money you guys have in these accounts. Maybe it's well worth it for you, but with what I got in there, all this work is not worth $0.30 a month.

Re: PHP Developers, Keep me Sane

Yeah, PHP is funny that way.

I open use it to suppress errors from file manipulations (delete, etc). Whatever happened to the good old days of coding when stuff returned 0 on success? Exceptions have their purpose, but I think sometimes that PHP's gone exception crazy.

Re: Website layout dimensions today

It's a simple numbers game actually. The stats on 800x600 sites come at about under 3%, the last time I checked.

But, this question has no right/wrong answer. It all depends on design time, target audience, design type, etc.

If you've got the time, then I guess you can try a fluid design. I don't like them, because they tend to stretch out too wide sometimes. Also, I'm just lazy that way.

For general business websites, I tend to go with a smaller width, since the audience is wider and may include lil' old grandmas with 5 year old computers. On blogs and graphical sites, I go a bit wider, sine the audience would be expected to have slightly newer PCs.

Type of design also plays a big role. More graphical sites tend to demand a larger display.

Re: 10 Reasons why Ruby is better than PHP - Reason #2

I'm not even sure what to make of this. IHMO, it seems a more fitting title for your post would be: "10 reasons why [I] like Ruby better than PHP."

To argue the term "better" with "evidence" like yours is sort of misguided.

The lack of a [return] statement hardly makes a language better. Don't get me wrong, I think that Ruby is better than PHP, but your reasons leave a lot to be desired and may be misleading.

eg. I hate the lack of braces in Ruby; does that mean I think PHP is "better"? Based on your arguments (so far) C == PHP because you're focusing on syntax.

Hey, I'm just saying...

Re: 10 Reasons why Ruby is better than PHP - Reason #2

HOWEVER, ...
