I think that article marketing takes some time to show results. Usually, especially on a new site, if you through a lot of links at something with targetted anchor text then it hits a penalty. However, if you then leave that site for a few months then you can be sure that it will start ranking for those keywords.

On a side-note I feel articlemarketer really went down hill. I stopped using it a couple of months ago. Do some checks on the amount of links your getting from it and you may be suprised to find out it's less than you think.

I guess I do not fill in with the average demographic of your site :-) Something I find very interesting is the thought of being able to advertise at people in certain jobs and incomes - I think that will create real opportunities for advertisers, and further cement the web as a million times better for advertising than offline.

I felt the interview was all over the place. However, I must say that in the end, shoemoney seemed to come round to Rand's way of thinking.

That is the best piece of advice that I have heard from a blogger. As soon as you get started, it is true to say that it is very hard to stop. Once you get by the 1st few months and start to see returns then you are always far more willing to put more into it when the returns are more tangible.
