Hehe, sorry for changing my Twitter routine right after you write about it. I use TweetDeck now to create a group of people that I want to follow closely. So in essence, from my point of view nothing has changed.

I'd be very excited if I could use the "hide" functionality. I'm getting a slightly more polished experience from http://fftogo.com. I was hoping the FriendFeed guys themselves would have a feature complete version instead of an API-limited one. One can only hope.

I don't see anything wrong with an automated message thanking a user for following me, and to let me know if they have any questions about my tweets. That's what I do, and I'm getting great feedback on the message. As for advertisements, that's not my style. Different strokes for different folks. Now people telling me how to use Twitter, that's annoying :)

You should rename this to "The top 10 reasons why Twitter should convert DMs to email addresses". That's essentially what this article is saying. While we're at it, get rid of instant messaging systems too. They have a lot of the same problems you listed here. Drop everything and revert to email. Right?

Great job! Only thing I ask for the next version(s) is better control over the style/look of the sidebar widgets. Right now, it looks like they're using plain li tags without a ul. Maybe you can offer a custom pre and post tag of each tweet?

Also, template tags! You got me excited over here :) If we could have template tags so we can control where to insert data, that would put it over the top. One that I want immediately is a tweet count tag (much like the comments count). So yeah, template tags please :)
