in Tottenham Coming To USA For Future Preseason Tour on EPL Talk
this is not constructive at all... But I hate Spurs fans in America. I live in Brooklyn and my local 'football' bar has been taken over by them. and they are the most annoying wanna be EPL supporters I've ever met. My best memory was the lasagne match a few years back...

I was getting abuse non stop because West Ham where beating them, and it was my fault they got food poisoned ( latter found to be mild if at all bacteria) and would not make Europe.

That NBA dude Steve Nash is a Spud fan, let him organize the match...

Spuds v Crystal Palace Baltimore is a nice choice for Spuds.

in The beginning of the end for debt ridden clubs? on EPL Talk
Lets face it. The people that own the clubs, who run the league are incompetent . Corrupt. Have very little understanding of who actually supports the league and the League leaders don't get international finance.

That said. The entire league is in jeopardy. not just West Ham. or Man U or anyone. but even Man City... but then again... pretty much every thing is in jeopardy right now.

I personally think the entire world will change in the next 6 months economically and who knows how the EPL will be effected. but they will still kick off every Saturday, and we'll still sing.

I didn't notice as it was just a boring match. But, what I did notice is that Wayne Rooney is in love with Morten Gamst Pedersen. From the time they lined up in introductions to the field of play they acted like boyfriends.

just my observation.

in Portsmouth Turning Into A Farce Due To Financial Troubles on EPL Talk
The other very real question is who actually owns Pompy. While Alexandre Gaydamak is listed with the FA. Most people believe that he is bankrolled by his dad, Arkadi Gaydamal.

Arkadi is wanted in France for gun running.

The joke of this all is the FA demand owners be "fit and proper persons". That didn't work out so well in Manchester City now did it. or some might even say at CFC.

As for the money crisis at Pompy, I have my doubts. First the investigation was done by News of the World. Do I really need to say anything at all about that paper. Second, this could well be a ploy by Gaydamek's to get the stadium built.
Or it could be that Gaydamek has simply grown bored of the Premier League...

I really think that the League needs to get a bit more teeth into the financial deals at clubs. Given the current state of the global economy, borrowing cash will be difficult, if not impossible. So we will see more foreign owners who are flush in cash.

and the crazy thing about the Gaydamek's is that to this day no one knows how he made million is Russia before moving to Israel. I think that's telling.

in Sheffield United Players Should Sue West Ham United on EPL Talk
GAFFER a new low...

its clear now that its just personal for you. as you have a very thin grasp of the facts of this situation. and maybe its easier for you that way to hold onto this line of argument that the Club is a bunch of cheats.

I could run through this item by item but its frankly old and boring. Do you even understand what it is that let SUFC finally win on its 4th or 5th try???

Do you understand why they won this last judgement?

its from hearsay. That Scott Duxbury had a gentleman's agreement with MSI to release Tevez at seasons end. And that was brought forward by a reporter, who had no other proof then hearsay. not even from Kia or Duxbury. mind you this was after the fine, and only in regard to the last three matches.

This was the new evidence that McCabe was screaming about. Not sure how familiar you are with the law in free countries but hearsay isn't admissible.

as for YOU. its one thing to have a blog entry where you state what is in papers etc.. but to say "Sheffield United Players Should Sue West Ham United" the key word being SHOULD - then you need to have some sort of editorial reasoning behind that. In other words you need to prove they SHOULD by providing cause, not just effect.

and no player will sue West Ham. Because they can't. They'd have to sue the FA since it was the FA the 'allowed' them to remain in the league. And I'm not a legal expert, but from things I've read and heard about such suits is they have about as much chance of suing WHU as I do suing SUFC for wasting my time writing this.

and personally I'd like to know how you came up with the assertion " Now that the Football Association appointed arbitration hearing has ruled in the favor of Sheffield United, the club’s players have every right to sue West Ham" what are you basing that statement on?? and as far as I was aware the biggest relegation wage cut can be is 25% so where does your 30 to 50% come from...

not to mention every story I've read mentions 10 players not 12.

are you just making this stuff up?

and what is REALLY the message out of this... is it that smaller clubs like West Ham will be given the shaft for the same activity that routinely happens at 'big four' clubs, you may recall a certain wink wink handshake deal Man U had that very same season. But it was not proceeded with because most of the evidence was 'hearsay'. or just about any deal that happens at CFC

have a good weekend

The Gaffer Patrick,

Obviously we disagree about the statements made in this article. It's a matter of my opinion, which you don't agree with -- and you're entitled to that.

But rather than be negative, let's turn it around. If you're not satisfied with the quality of the articles here, I've given you an opportunity to write your own. You ignored that.

So, tell me, what topics would you like to see covered that you feel would be interesting to read. Your feedback is welcomed.

Johnathan Starling I have to admit, when I read comments like this last once Patrick, it makes me ask a simple question...why continue to come back?

The last time I checked you could go to any blog you wanted to, yet you continue to come back?

So to that I say thank you for your readership and your continued readership.

in Steve Bruce Deserves Praise For Wigan Athletic Turnaround on EPL Talk
Steve Bruce needs to stop eating pies.

and start playing positive football. Wigan have become the new Bolton, negative, thuggish, and dirty.

but yeah lets praise him for keeping them up, for that prick owner. cause Wigan is an egg chasing town, and the football supporters in Wigan support either City or United. The fans that do show up, flood out with ten minutes left...

maybe that is why no one takes notice....

and Manchester's textile had nothing to do with the new dressing up firms. It had to do with clubs playing overseas, and traveling fans plundering trackies and clothing from shops. and in the case if Madchester was the rise of a huge music scene, putting Manchester on the map for the world beyond music.

your like the cranky old man at the pub who doesn't get it.

I'm more bothered by the lies McCain tells in his ads, then an ad with a chicken poking locker room type humour at the world's biggest sport.

and lets face it, making an American football fan even associate the word football with soccer is a start.

in Time For West Ham To Pay Up And Shut Up on EPL Talk
Gaffer you realize that you just don't have a full grasp of this complicated situation. and you are playing McCain type semantics. The reason SUFC sued was the games after the fine that Tevez played. When he is fact was a registered WHU footballer cleared to play by the powers that be. The question was not the fine or the punishment because that is against FA rules. It was after it was found that some of the paperwork former owner Brown submitted left off that MSI had a controlling ownership of the players. So again this is about after the fine. Understand that now??? The fine was the punishment, which under league law team can't sue over or go to arbitration or whatever.

SUFC's McCabe also was very vocal that this wasn't about money, yet it was ALWAYS about the money wasn't it. Do the other relegated teams get a share since this is based on what ifs?

and West Ham will not have to sell players. That is just absurd. if the amount is huge WHU will sue Brown and the EPL, since Tevez was played with full clearance of the FA. You may remember Wigan where very vocal back then when he was cleared and they had some sort of council to make sure everything was legal. It was so said the League and the FA.

But if you live in a black and white world and want to call West Ham cheats simply out of spite - whatever that's your own issue. Cause its not on facts.

You sound about as intelligent as a Millwall supporter discussing West Ham in this post.
