thin skin much?
My first comment was more of disgust. Like making fun of someone's handicap. So you fire back full barrell that you didn't know and that its a joke.
but if you are going to be a journo, and you make such a joke in a paid position. you will get fired for it.
that's reality.
so if you wanna act snarky and cool about it, fine.
your loss. could have just said admited your bad and moved on.
no one is perfect but seriously Lescott is an England international. Everyone knows about his scar. Like tevez'.

or watching Everton EVER.
I'm NO Everton fan but I watch football, and they talk about things like that. what next Tevez' scar?
You clearly do not watch that much football. and frankly the list wasn't that great.
I support WHU, and this is funny...
the contents of Bellamy's locker.
A Banjo - for his beloved George Formby impressions on the away coach trips.
A very well thumbed A-Z road map of the UK.
A signed copy of The Wanderer.
Golf clubs - slightly bent.
A pair of discarded insoles.
A booster chair.
A copy of 'How To Control Your Anger Before It Controls You' with several pages ripped out.
A cell phone with a half written text message to Alan Shearer.

that's pretty insensitive or just ignorant to list Lescott . The guy was hit by a car as a small child, and that funny haircut is actually just scars.
Its one thing to chant a bird shit in your hair another to make fun of someone's childhood scars.

in Manchester City Raise Kaka Bid To £243 Million on EPL Talk
Seeing that "the Sun" had this story, I checked the front page of their web site. Lily Allen has a third nipple, and in the US Air crash story, they have a map that shows where the plane hit the geese. Except it is in the middle of Queens. Totally wrong and would have been impossible for the plane to land how it did... I couldn't look further.
Why not post a story based on the Daily Express, something like 'immigrants ruin football"
cause yes, Kaka wants to provide service for Bellars and Vassel. and if it does go through, the whole I belong to Jesus bit will be thrown out the window, cause he'd belong to agents, and greed.

This entire situation is based on heresy. Now I'm not English, and not up on English law, but I really can't imagine that the country that brought forth the magna carta would base decisions on gentleman's agreements. or double indemnity for that matter.
This really is about how the PL deals with these sorts of situations, from the moment it get a request for a registration to the time a problem arises.
Anyway just let this thing die.
next post Spuds want to sign Jesus. ( Navas that is)

in West Ham Should Fear The Worst on EPL Talk
frankly its all just absurd.
I really don't care if they are docked, relegated and the youth squad is fielded next year. I'll still support my club.
But BUT, there is a point when all credibility of the FA and PL is thrown out the window. and how Duxbury is still at the club is beyond me.
But seriously, lets dig up some rule U18 violations by about every top club, based on verbal agreements. Its all just a bit much.

in West Ham United Face Administration Threat And Possible Relegation on EPL Talk
STOP.
don't need to dredge up the Tevez affair. West Ham and the Blades are in the process of a negotiated settlement, which is part of the buy package. The before mentioned paper reported that the number of 8 million has been talked about by both parties, the hold up is the sale...
What annoys me about these sorts of posts is that the Gaffer pulls out chunks of the story. and the logic. a person who owns a 41% share isn't going to provide the full bail out of the bank with a sale of a personal asset... unless it will make him a LOT of money in the long run, it doesn't make sense. and lets not forget a few weeks ago it was by Christmas that West Ham would go into administration.
also from the story ""It is very difficult to sell any football club right now, it is hard to maximise value," the source said. "But Mr Gudmundsson will not accept an unsatisfactory amount, he is prepared to wait for the right offer to come along." He also said Hansa had options for paying back creditors other than selling West Ham."
sounds to me like BG is hedging the sale of WHU to buy all of Landbankski. With Iceland already at rock bottom, there is nothing up up if you can survive the crisis.
not to mention that if BG lets the Hammer go into administration his asset become real quick red ink and any hope of profiting on the crisis up in smoke.
So to believe this stuff, you have to believe that the owner of the club, is as dumb as dirt.
and yeah I don't think he'll get anywhere near 230 for the club, but 150 isn't out of the question and that is nearly double what he paid, and a nice way to grab some more shares of the bank...
just sayin...

in Famous Musicians Who Are Mad Soccer Fans on EPL Talk
Saw this on your comments... I always find it funny who Morrissey supports... There was word that he liked Man U, even wrote a song about the Munich Air disaster.. Then he went on his Bobby Moore kick, and wore the West Ham Boys club. I think its more about being an east end hard man. And recently it was reported he supported Millwall of all teams. again wanting to line up with so called 'hard' men.
West Ham is the English team for Rod Stewart, David Essex, Nick Berry ( if you call his album music), John Cleese ( sang a bit), Phil Collen of Def Leppard, Roger O'Donnell of the Cure, Louise Wener of Sleeper, Dave Grohl of Nirvana and Foo Fighters, Chesney Hawkes, Keith Flint of the Prodigy, Jo O'Meara of S Club 7 ( yeah I know), Russell Brand ( he at least played a rock star)
and yeah and Obama ( they called him a rock star)

in Who Will Move Premiership Clubs In January? on EPL Talk
Nice lead in...
But lets get some perspective as there are lots of rumours about. Santa Cruz had a great season last year. But lets not forget this was the same guy who couldn't find the back of the net while at Bayern Munich. He is a sell high player, will never be anything more then a squad player on a big team.
Bellars is a travelin man. Its just what he does, and if the Hammers can cash in on him good on umm. They may want to get a finisher, as that last match with Stoke points out. Scott Parker and Davenport are also likely to be shown the door, along with a few reserve players.
The rest is all paper talk rumours. Upson is NOT going anywhere, nor Owen. Elano could get a one way ticket back to the continent, and one of the Jermain(e)'s could move on, but none is of any huge impact.
City will bang out big names, but they will just add to the nervous mix of players already struggling and fighting to get playing time, and at 2 points from the drop you have to be very very careful. With all the proclamation of them as the next it team, they still have a LOT of growing pains to go through. They won't even make the UEFA Cup and beyond money that will make it a tough sell, unless you a mate o Robinho.
I just don't see big money tossed about, the credit crunch has every owner worried about debt being called, and personally I look at Arsenal as the team that will make the most noise this window. They are one of the few internally profitable clubs in the PL, but will Wenger spend it or same it up for anotgher day like last season....

Completely agree regarding Santa Cruz, I was amazed at his form last season as I had never really been impressed with him at Bayern at all. I think the Fabragas issue may force Wenger's hand tho.

in Can Aston Villa Win The Premier League? on EPL Talk
short answer is no. They don't have the depth, and I disagree about the team spirit. Carew could become a major distraction. And there are other players not happy about playing time, or playing out of position who have a history of bringing down dressing rooms. A few losses could see them drop even out of any European spots.
Arsenal will catch up, and finish 4th, but who will win it. It really is open and I can't see Liverpool winning its first PL Cup. Man U will win it again, yawn.

in Premiership Considers Premier League TV on EPL Talk
What might make more sense for the PL ( the E is sorta redundant, unless you also use ANFL) is to sell sets. Like the NFL sells by conference and then night games, the PL would bundle the three time slot matches on Saturday and the two on Sunday and a Monday match. Two networks broadcast a game at 1pm 3pm and 5 pm Saturday, 2 and 4pm Sunday. Every game is broadcast, and a third Network perhaps the BBC, would take Monday night matches from the previous list, when its possible.
would also be very smart to license out IPTV to the world, via the PL's website.

Patrick, calling the Premier League the EPL is totally relevant. If you live in the UK, then it's not necessary, but outside of the UK there are many other Premier Leagues. There's the SPL (Scottish Premier League), RPL (Russian Premier League), MPL (Malaysia Premier League), IPL (Irish Premier League), TPL (Thailand Premier League) and so on and so forth.

in Will Saturday Be The Most Boring Matchday In The Premier League? on EPL Talk
I think you might just wanna follow champions league if you can't get down with mid table clashes. Look at the Table, no one is safe, every point for here on in is a struggle. Blackburn will be out to prove that they can stay up after losing a manager, Stoke just hoping to stay up themselves... Bolton is always boring in my book but Pompey has their own storyline of change... Fulham has been entertaining all season, and Boro out to prove the draw v the Gooners was no fluke... Hull has been displaying all guts entertaining football, and Sunderland need points.
and The battle of the claret and blue has alot of subplots... Lots of ex west ham on Villa, and West Ham needs points. Both play open attacking English football. It is the sort of game that any fan of the PL loves and wants to see.
Then again my favorite game is normally the 12n00n fizzy pop match on Setanta. Guts and desire on display. I really don't need to see 'names' to enjoy my football.
