And I have to give a big "Awww, man!" to how you're feeling about Heather B. She is more awesome than I can even say and her force field is made of love. Trust me on that one. Oh, maybe a dash of Ketel One, but that's because when I stand close to her I crave vodka and kiss her full on the lips just to get drunk. She is, by far, one of the nicest people I've ever met. Blogger or not.

It's funny, but Kennimus thought you were slamming me, but I assured him that I had NOTHING to do with your daughter's placement. It's completely irresponsible for them to have merged these two schools and then not managed to have the foresight to determine what to do with their Honors students (not to mention Special Education students, but I though that would have been too obvious).

Or perhaps they did.

Here's my question for the district: did they figure that their honors student category was going to increase and then re-configure their placement criteria? If so, did your daughter not make the cut? If so, did they consider her and other kids not to have been "Honors" in the first place?

I'm sorry for the mess. I hope it all works out and you get the answers you seek. Mostly, I hope that your daughter is ok.

Thank you, Karoli, for being so ardent in your support of Julie Amero. Why we take the innocent and victimize them and let so much else happen why turning a blind eye to them infuriates me. Of course, I'm in support of teachers and all that emcompasses, but what's the real story? Who were they trying to catch doing something?

I'm feeling your daughter's pain. My own years of braces totaled nearly 6 years. UGH. That was no fun.
