in Hey iPhone Users, Android Isn’t Dead Yet! on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Windows Mobile can not compete against these new OS (BB, Google, Apple), it was great when all it had to compete against was Palm. It offered a lot more than Palm did, and Palm really dropped the ball. WinMo hasn't changed at all in the last few years, a big update is coming out soon, but Microsoft still don't get it, which is why you see so many companies providing their own interface on top of WinMo. iPhone is the current big leader because it make everything easy, from making calls to sending messages to using complex apps.

Most people still seem to not understand this simple fact.

And BTW, Windows Mobile still don't have an app store out yet, but will soon. Some people here don't seem to understand the difference between an app store and installing applications yourself.

in Nokia N85 vs Nokia N96 Screen Comparisons on The Nokia Blog
Can't believe what shocking resolution these both have, at 320x240...even the iphone has more than this (480x320). I thought the Nokias had really high resolution, shame!

How the hell is this like clippy? Does pegman come and ask you where you want to go? No, this is nothing like clippy, except for in the video. You are more like clippy than this little icon on a google page. Well reasoned, my friend, well reasoned. Boyshaka!

in If This Gets Out, McCain is Done. Period. on danielmiessler.com | grep understanding

So when was this town hall done. Do you think useful information like that should be included on your webpage? This looks like it comes from McCains early period, before he sold out to the republicans.

A better issue I think should be looked at, would be showing McCains early ideals, when he was a "maverick", to the ones he supports now, to toe the line of the republican party.

in How Does One Explain SQL Injection to a Non-Techie? on dmiessler.com | grep understanding

You usually don't need to go into enough detail, especially with analogies, it just becomes more confusing.

Somebody hacks into the website by inserting secret commands into a text box.

in Why we bill by the hour on Squeejee Blog
You are completely wrong about this. Basically you are saying that you can't estimate how long a project will take, so you are not taking responsibility about this. This is a very important part of the process, judging how long a project will take and the amount of resources you need to throw at it, and you are saying that you CAN NOT do this. How any of your customers take you on is testimony to the ignorance or stupidity of your customers.

So you say you can still work with a company who has a budget for your project, but in reality you would use up there money, have half the project done, and therefore nothing to show for the money they have spent. They would either have to write of the money they have spend, or get money to finish the project. Rather than have a guarantee of deliverables. Once again, this is ridiculous.

I can't believe you are proud of the fact, and seem to brag about the fact that you can't estimate a projects time. If you can't estimate how long a project is going to take, how can you estimate how many resources to throw at it, or even if it can be done?

in Stop Telling Me There’s No Reason to Drink Bottled Water on dmiessler.com | grep understanding

Ok, you make a point. But you don't offer a solution. Are you at all worried about the huge waste of resources, that comes with using bottled water. That is take 5 liters of water to produce each litre of bottled water, or is this the price you pay for being a water snob?

in eBay: No Matter How Hard You Try, You’re Still No Amazon on Bob Caswell
Ebay is more hassle, but as long as you use paypal, you will be covered. If someone doesn't send you something, you can claim the money back. And unless they can prove that they sent it, you will be ok.

So Ebay more hassle, but the rewards can be greater. If you have more time, then you will be ok.

No doubt the chap in Florida was a trouble maker. Maybe the security were justified to remove him from the room in the manner they did.

But you seem to skirt over the issue of him being tazered. I see a bigger problem her, the prevalence of issues that previously were solved by other methods, now being solved by tazering - this is a problem. Tazering should only ever be used as a last resort, not at the will of security guards.
