If he opposes integration so much. He should give back to the community so that others coming after him don't have to suffer the drawbacks of coming from a 'sub-par' academic background.

And this should apply to everyone. Professional societies like NABJ, NSBE, BMBA should really ramp up efforts to give back. I listened to an interview a while ago about a group in California who selected a relatively small group of grade school kids and have basically tutored and mentored them and will do so up to and long after college/law school.

It's not so much as granting scholarships and creating after school programs for a few hundred or even thousand kids, but follow-up/ mentoring which is where people drop the ball.

So my suggestion would be to follow that group's model, work with a few kids from grade-school all the way up to professional level and it will create a domino effect because these same kids will mentor younger kids while they are in college and so forth.

Re: Integrating Success and Opportunity

Story link
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?st...

Re: Why do people hate on Tyler Perry?

@Big Man Films, one of the messages I get from Perry's plays, especially with reference to your comment, is that black women be more open to getting into relationships with blue collar men. I know for certain Nigeria has over 200, Ghana has over 60 ethnic groups. Basically what I'm saying is 3 is a major understatement on the number of ethnic groups from each African country.

The main problem with most African countries today is ethnic divsion. So why would these African leaders want to merge into one big government umbrella? If we can't manage the little pools of mess that are currently brewing in each country how can they manage thousands of ethnic divisions?

I honestly think that the African leaders who support this idea just want to have a bigger pool of African money to steal from.

Re: hbcu’s in america’s high-tech future

What is the return on pursuing an advanced degree in a STEM field these days? One reason why I feel like doing what he's doing now (ignoring these irrelevant questions) is for the best.

"Barack is caught in a bind. On the one hand, if he goes after Hillary, people will say he's being just another sexist male. On the other hand, if he continues to stick to the issues, play by the rules, remain "presidential," as they say, white women like Maureen Dowd from the phony liberal New York Times will call him a wimp. That's all what they SAY.

What's behind it is what the post on the field's blog say: white privilege-- this conscious or unconscious mental process that runs like a thread through their mind. Let's see..."I'm white; I'm more entitled than this skinny black guy. Moreover, I was First Lady when Bill, my white husband, was once president. Why shouldn't I be the next president?""

---a comment from http://www.jackandjillpolitics.com/2008/04/this...

Re: Hillary Wins.

I don't really see it as a "woe is Obama" more like he knows what this people are up to and he's trying to stay focused on the prize.

Re: Jeremiah Wright: Obama is a politician

Tavis Smiley...Rev Wright...-smh-

Re: See it: Reverend Jeremiah Wright Interview with Bill Moyers

hi Carmen...this is completely off topic, but I just wanted to say thank you for highlighting the RIF petition on your blog, I signed the petition and one of my senators (or is it congressmen?)
