One of the most common mistakes is using "then" instead of "than".
I have the tendency to write "abble" instead of "able", but then again I'm portuguese, so I have an excuse.
What about aesthetics / esthetics, I would guess it was included.

I do hope that other countries are not waiting for the USA to start, especially when they are far from being a good example in terms of polution.
It's shameful that a crisis was needed to talk about this. Something that should have started thirty years ago.
I do hope that with the new president, the USA will start a better approach to the environmental issues.

I've read good things about Twitter but I'm not there and I don't know if I ever will.
I'm just not the "follower" kind of guy, although there are quality blogs that I follow.
Building my opinion based upon my beliefs is one of my characteristics.
Of course that if I should guess that Twitter would get me lots of traffic to my blog.... :-)
From all the strategies and social websites, together with lots of blogs that practically say the same thing, in my opinion it's quality and relevant content, mixed with a good dose of creativity that helps to an organic growth of a web presence.

To use a cell camera more or less also has to do a bit with our society culture.
Lets not forget that when cells with cameras started to appear, the japanese market was more targeted than other ones.
With globalization, the differences between countries and thus cultures, tends to fade.
With the advent of flexible screens we'll be watching videos on t-shirts, cereal boxes and so on.
Heck ! One may even upload a video from the cell to the t-shirt :-)

Your post focus a true social meaning and not social as getting a big number of visitors; of course that getting lots of visitors is also good.
I guess that blogs may reflect somewhat how people are relating nowadays and lets hope that bloggers may have some power to influence things in this world to make it a better place.

The time when the big ones were always on top is over, although that fact is only recently arriving her in Portugal.
The football in Spain is of great quality, like it is in UK and Italy. Thus the fact of the stadiums always having a good assistance.

I've read many times that the url of a website should be related to the theme.
This can hold true in terms of web crawling, but there are zillions of websites doing that.
Often I feel that branding development and off-line marketing is a major complement and sometimes more important than the online one.
If we look at names of major well known brands, their title/url doesn't tell a robot what their site is about; of course that they will use tags on their HTML., but I guess that you get my point.

Portuguese brands : Delta (I like the Platina blend)
Sical (now it's owned by Nestlè)
Nicola
Italian brands : I like Mokai (I can't remember how it's spelled).
Mind that's important to have a good machine (Briel is a good portuguese brand), a good grinding and to know how to take a coffee.

I agree that a good software should be paid for.
Even some of the free public domain software, many times deserves a compensation, which many times can be done by clicking one of those donate buttons.
Of course that I think that sometimes the prices are too high, namely here in Portugal.
Now, the only thing that may put an obstacle on the sales of this product is the monthly fee.
Of course that for those who own houses through all the world and work with companies such as La Perla, that's less than pocket change.
But I believe that in the future they'll have to revise the price policy, for the competition is peeking.

I've advertised my website on some blogs, but I can't afford advertising on the top ones, such as this one. Although I find the price quite good.
Maybe when my blog starts to get more visitors, I can earn some money from advertising thus being abble to also advertise on more visible blogs.
I do believe that quality content is the best way to gain readers.

With the stock markets not so healthy due to the status quo of the world's economy, for now we still can't say that things are that bad.
IPOs of major internet related companies still draw attention from investors and the successes of Google and Baidu are inspirations for the following ones.
It's important to notice that although the USA continue to be the barometer of the world's economy, the buying power is starting to get more balanced, shifting towards East, namely Russia, China and Middle East; something that one can confirm if paying attention to who buys what at auctions from Christie's or Sotheby's.
Yandex is part of a market with great possibilities and certainly will appeal to the big players.

One thing that one should notice is that usually great players have a good behave in the field.

I think that the main thing about OLED is not the thin TVs but where the screens may be applied.
When the price comes down, we'll be seing screens on t-shirts, cereal boxes, newspapers etc. (I think).
I guess that the brand Cambridge is also working well on this.

Yahoo was one of the first companies with "name" in this business of the internet. And naturaly it must have made some good money in spite of up and downs. It's just like the major players in the stock market, such as Citi Group, General Electric and 3M. These are what we call barometers and they usually stand through stormy times.
Being a barometer of the internet companies, I believe that Yahoo has a word to say in this competitive market and the know how to adapt itself to new trends and even create them.
I do hope that Yahoo and other companies keep independent to avoid disguised monopoly.

Well, I had my website's (not my blog) name as a subdomain (host/mysite) and had a pagerank of 2. Then suddenly lost it.
I thought : maybe it's because it's under the main domain.
So, I pointed the DNS to my website's hoster and now it's www.website.com, but I still have no pagerank.
At least I got good news this week. The people at DMOZ already updated to my new URL, which was quite kind from their side.
I guess I'll have to wait.
I wish I'd have at least a pagerank of 1, but I got 0 for my website and blog. And when I check my link popularity, I don't get links under Google and MSN....I wonder why. I even have submited a sitemap to Google...
Anyway, what matters to me now is writing good content on my blog, or at least trying.
