I'm still with Matt on this one. My email at work is filed under folders saved on my personal drive. It saves me a lot of time to be able to pull up an email to recall conversations and commitments from others in their emails. The majority of the time, I don't use it but it is nice to have when I need it. Having said that, all documents that need to be used frequently are saved to my share drive which allows everyone who would need it access. So I guess I do a bit of both, but I love filing email.

Aw. Sorry I missed the big celebration, I've been slowed down reading blogs because of connectivity issues (read: using aol dial up because until the AC is fixed next week, we're staying at my parents' house...yes there are still people using dial-up...)

Anyways Congratulations! Here's to many more years blogging!

Wow, that's a great plan. Too bad they should've been doing that a long time ago. Do you think the GOP slipped Dean their notes so they could catch up? It's not fun when they're not even competitive! ;)

Roses AND perfume? Well that is asking too much... I don't think you'll find a girl that has roses AND perfume. I have perfume and if you talk to my husband, I might even get some roses...but to have both at the same time. Too much pressure, Aaron. Sorry. :)

Great post Aaron, to disagree with someone just because you don't like what party they belong to or just to be disagreeable is petty and childish. I hope the Democrats get it together soon, but it just seems they're going deeper and deeper into moonbat lake...

Good post, Dave, it's interesting how it seems instead of admitting they're wrong is looking for someone else to blame. I wonder how Kerry could possibly consider running again in 08 knowing that he is the Democrats scapegoat? Yes he was a terrible candidate but these left to the left liberals certainly did not help him.

Our major newsource is the liberally biased MSM, during our election on a daily basis, we heard about what Bush was doing wrong. Now I am not comparing CBS with Al Jazeera, but I am saying that even in Iraq there are alternate sources of information. The Iraqis are seeing the insurgents kill their own, and they're seeing the marines rebuild the schools. I know it is not as simple as that but the turnout today shows that the Iraqis can see through the propaganda and are willing to risk their lives to save their country.

Also I remind you that no country has a perfect form of government and that they all had to begin somewhere. And none of those beginnings were perfectly conceived and executed from the first election. It evolved. This is the Iraqi's beginning.

I think they will succeed because the majority of Iraqis want to vote and if you are willing to vote in the face of death then your vote is going to be a meaningful one. I am sure the Iraqis who vote will have given much thought about what their vote means and who for whom they will vote.



The elections will not fail because of voter ignorance. Unfortunately everytime the US has an election, uninformed voters vote. This is not an unusual or unprecedented phenomena. Here in Florida, we have to vote almost every election to repeal an admendment that was voted to approve the last election (high speed trains anyone?).



Now I agree with you that the candidate list is daunting, and this could be a legitimacy issue if the ballots are not correctly formatted (Again, my great state of Florida, need I say anymore?) and that is the key to this election. The legitimacy. If the Iraqis are convinced that the election was legitimate or even legitimate enough then the election will have been a success. Having said all that, I am realistic enough to know that this vote will not automatically solve all this country's problems or infighting. But it is a new beginning...

Well Aaron you do have a point and their certainly is a tiered blogosphere. Not all blogs are created equally. Some people are happy to depend on just a few blogs to receive their information but others are willing to try and find the smaller blogs too.



I think the web is a great equalizer in that respect. You don't need a lot of money to start up and you can gain a readership through persistence.



If you have the product, people will respond. I think some of the higher accessed blogs have been around longer and may be a little too comfortable with their status. Many of the smaller blogs are just imitaters of the big boys, that doesn't do anyone any good (how many Glenn Reynolds do we need?). Bloggers need to find their own voice and also be willing to help others out through links and promotion (not just involving your own blog!).

I'm weird. I asked for one for Christmas...but my husband wouldn't get it for me. :( He says I already spend too much time on the computer. Plus he doesn't like it when I beat him.

Well at least you don't need to worry about keeping busy. I have had the opposite situation (sort of) occur here with the same effect. Two additional managers hired, so now 3 times the work directed to me.

I am sorry for your loss. I can understand the anger you feel when you see incompetent politicians and city officials not doing what needs to be done for the people of your city. People like you with a great blog like this help put the word out and I hope your posts can make a difference. I am adding you to my blogroll and when I get more time I will direct my few readers to your site personally.
