in Scottish Sunday Express apologises for Dunblane story - Press Gazette on Press Gazette
Entirely agree - more paragraphs on how great the paper is than on how sorry they were.
No mention of the journalist who wrote it - no quotes from the editor who allowed it and decided to put it on the front page.
The apology might just about be enough to slow the campaign against the Express but not enough to win readers back. In truth the apology was absolutely gutless and quite obviously done without any real acceptance of their mistakes.
The fact that they removed the comment facility from the online apology speaks volumes.

in Feeding frenzy in the Guardian Travel section. on The Travel PR Blog
I hope it's not a hoax - it's just too funny.
It's crapness would be enough - but what is angering people is that this talentless prat is the son of a Guardian writer. For a paper that crusades against Political nepotism it's pretty stupid.

in The Petra Blog: fancy a free trip to Jordan? on The Travel PR Blog
"...good to respond when people support your efforts".
Of course, but this isn't a thank-you letter - it's at best a major incentive and at worst a bribe.
Let's face it, I could easily be tempted to vote for Petra even though I have never been there in my life. On the other hand I have been to Ankor Wat which is incredible but they aren't offering a free trip.
Sorry, but doesn't appear to be in the right spirit.

As with the message on the other blog - it hardly seems fair to offer such an incentive on a vote like this.

in Feeling peaky? Check this map on The Travel PR Blog
Hmmm - North America seems fairly peaky while, where I am, in Central America is entirely fit and well.
Hmm this doesn't actually work does it? Developing countries where illness is higher have no access to computers while developed countries can sit on line and complain about minor sniffles.
