There are currently no plans for advertising. If users of the directory request advertising, we would consider a member-supported model. This wouldn't happen prior to release and subsequent member involvement.

We will take on a listening and communicating role for the directory at the start but would hope to transition that to a member advisory board.

...and privacy issues. Specifically, the Green Collar Technologies policies would not necessarily apply to the directory.

The privacy policy reference above is currently for the survey. The Directory's privacy policies would be dictated by the needs of the users.
Options might also be made available for subscribers that do want updates on specific topics.
Changing any preferences, submitting feedback and unsubscribing would be at the discretion of the subscriber.

There would also be a self-service mechanism to retrieve lost passwords, providing the user knows the email address they signed up with. We should probably stick to the best practices of the major social networks like facebook, myspace etc. for starters.

Re: 2008/12/04/flickr-mobile/

This could be helpful for hazard mitigation and disaster management -help asses damage and situation reports.

Re: 2008/12/15/movable-type-motion/

What happens to the connectivity business once we're all connected?

Re: Formula Zero World Premiere in Rotterdam, Motosport at its Cleanest

gotta agree with Jon. Awareness is key.

For example, no one likes to see killer whales in tanks doing flips for the crowd. But a relatively few number of killer whales have encouraged a large number of people to become "aware" of their beauty.

Likewise, hydrogen power itself is beautiful and should be developed. ZERO Waste should be the goal. We have our first ZW conference coming up next month here on the big island of hawaii. I'm psyched that we might learn a thing or two from Gunter Pauli and what you folks are up to over there! If you're here, come to the conference. Not sure of the dates but I think there's more info here: http://hiedb.org</p>
