I think swearing has its time and place. I personally try not to swear, but at times just saying something crude (when I'm angry, for example) makes me feel better. I've made efforts to substitute the F word for 'fish' (for example). And I think I've come a long way. If you met me five years ago, you'd probably have shot me :>

I agree that Aragorn is the MAN. But I reckon that Gandalf is the WIZARD, Legolas is the ELF while Sam is the HOBBIT! :>

But, yeah, the books are fantastic. The bit describing the charge of Rohan in 'The Return of the King' stands as the most fantastic bit of writing I've ever read.

If you want more, I suggest you pick up 'The Silmarillion'. You won't regret it. You'll spend a lot of time reading it, but you won't regret it.

Well, simply put, postmodernists believe that there's always two sides to every story (which has its merits). It doesn't question the Bible (or the Qur'an, or the Torah, or other religious texts) per se, but I suppose in principle you can make it so.

In my case, I take a balanced approach. I can be post-modernist in some aspects (I acknowledge that history can be and usually is written by victors), but as far as God goes...well, I truly believe in Islam and most of its principles (that's another story :>). You don't have to be completely one or the other, for fanaticism is self-defeating.

I have the same problem. Not just when people die, but when someone is going through tough times. I always have a problem of what to say, how to say it, when to say it, shall I put my arm around them, shall I leave it to those who are closer to them, etc.

I don't intend to offer you a way on how to deal with this. I don't have one myself. It's just so you know that you're not the only one.

You don't need Hotmail to use MSN Messenger. What you need is an MSN Passport. If you have a Hotmail account, then you automatically have MSN Passport. If you don't you can sign up using any other email address you have.

In case you didn't notice, I don't spend all night chatting with you using a Hotmail account...:>
