I had something like this happen several years ago with my Bank of America credit card.

They flagged my account - I can't remember if they called me, if I got an email alert or an alert on my online banking - but I called them and they told me someone in England (I was in California) had tried to use my credit card to purchase tents or camping supplies.

They asked me if I had made the charge, I said no, so they denied it, canceled my card and issued me a new one. What's scary is I have no idea how someone in England had gotten my CC info. I had only placed a handful of online orders and never from Britain. I hadn't been in contact with anyone from Britain, so it was weird and I'm glad the bank caught it and notified me.

It can be a pain, but it does save a lot of trouble because you have to go through a whole process to dispute unauthorized charges.

Very comprehensive guide with some very good suggestions. I especially think your last words of caution - don't start spending on luxuries you've been denying yourself until you can be sure that you're staying ahead of inflation - are very important.

Hi,

I have WP Super Cache and Widget Cache enabled on my WordPress site so the site is loading really fast, but my database is overloading and Media Temple has moved me to the burst container twice in the past 4 days.

Do you know if I can use the persistent connections at along with my page caching? Would that help or make a difference? Or would it not work?

Hi, first of all, thanks for this great plug-in.

I've installed it on a test site and am having a problem with IE compatibility. You can see it at this page:

It looks okay in Firefox, but when I switch between tabs in IE6, the letters sort of "flash" and look weird for a moment before loading. Also, the corners of the tabs aren't showing up right in IE.

It also seems to be conflicting with the Multi-Level Navigation plug-in (http://pixopoint.com/multi-level-navigation/) in IE6. When I hover over a multi-level menu item, bullets appear next to the Widget Structure box, which is peculiar. Bullets don't appear there when the FWWS plug-in is deactivated.

Thanks for your hard work. I look forward to a stable release of this plug-in and being able to use it on my live site.

My favorite holiday tradition is watching a new movie (or movies) that we buy on DVD with my sister. We live in an isolated area thousands of miles from friends and family so Christmas is just the 2 of us. We love watching movies, which is one of our main hobbies, and always have a movie party on Christmas. Last year we got the Horatio Hornblower collection f 8 movies and watched them starting Christmas Eve. We love those movies so much we're going to watch them again this Christmas. (The year before last we watched the extended version of the Chronicles of Narnia.)

Out of some strange habit, I still prefer and use MSN.com as my start page on my default browser. I think I may have tried iGoogle as my start page for a while in the past, but ultimately went back to MSN. I like to glimpse the headlines when I first go online, then use my bookmarks in the bookmark bar (using Ctrl+T) to open all my daily sites to check in different tabs.
