in Help the Iranian People by Killing Them on The Washington Independent
And Israel has such a good track of only killing the bad guys as evidenced by today's report of war crimes committed in Gaza no doubt the Iranians are presently primed for Bolton's arguments. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/03/world/middlee...

And speaking of the Washington Post as neocon mouthpiece extraordinaire and their recent exposure as the worst kind of pay to play journalists, can someone look into whether the Israel Lobby has become a profit center for the Post? Because that would explain a lot...

in Is Michael Scheuer Actually Urging an Attack on America? on The Washington Independent
Spencer:

This is not the first time that Mike Scheuer has boarded the Glen Beck crazy train on the neocon Fox network, probably because he hates Obama. When you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

It's too bad Scheuer is ruining his reputation on his core competency like this and is blowing away any intellectual consistency he might have previously possessed. I know he used to be anti-neocon but now he just sounds like a shill for Israel. His 2004 book, Imperial Hubris, was terrific and was the first thing I read that lead me to seek a deeper understanding of what 9/11 was about and, believe me, Scheuer was not about "protecting us with as much violence as necessary." He was about disentangling from the Middle East and pursuing a more even-handed policy with respect to Israel.

He should apologize for selling out his principles and attempt to recover his reputation. You don't see Richard Clarke making a fool of himself like this. But you do see Larry Johnson and Michael Scheuer making utter fools of themselves. It's plain to see.

in Fired Inspector General Makes Fun of Obama and Biden Gaffes on The Washington Independent
Bring on the scandal. Let's have a full Congressional hearing into the reasons that Walpin was canned! We need Walpin's sworn testimony!

in Power Line - The Walpin Story on Power Line
Jake Tapper has more details on this sordid affair. http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/06...

Walpin was referred to the ethics board by the US Attorney for the outrageous way he handled the Johnson case. After he knew he was in trouble, he sent an unsolicited report to Congress smearing Johnson again, with added dubious sex charges! Read Walpin's crazy little "Starr" report, Hinderaker. You'll see how out of control he was. If you are an honest lawyer, that is. http://www.cncsig.gov/PDF/StHope/StHOPEFIN.pdf

Walpin was going postal! That's why everyone at the CNCS agreed that he had to go!

Oh, and Obama and Greg Craig gave the proper notice by suspending the guy with pay for 30 days before termination. But you know that too.

Michael McCanles Here is the summary paragraphy of the Tapper report:

"In that email, as well as other documents surrounding Walpin's termination obtained by ABC News, a picture emerges of an ambitious and aggressive inspector general whose actions repeatedly offended officials of the US Attorney's office, to the point that the Republican-appointee in the US Attorney's office filed an official complain against the Republican-appointed Inspector General."

"Offended"? The guy's being illegally fired because he "offended" someone with links to the Obama administration? Miz Mary, you want to stick with this? IG's exist and were made to exist in order to "offend" people and to be "aggressive." Tapper is just another liberal reporter with a superior posterior complex. Why don't you just quote Kos people and be done with it. Love it when Obamaniacs creep under the fence into PowerLine and start flashing their electric torches around.
Fred A Milton If Inspector General Walpin was "going postal" over the St. Hope / Kevin Johnson case, as you claim, then so were Robert J. Walters, Assistant IG for Investigations, and Stuart Axenfeld, Assistant IG for Audit. Both of these men signed the St. Hope / Johnson report along with Walpin.

in Trying to Trap Obama on Settlements Isn’t Going to Work, Bibi on The Washington Independent
"Trying to catch the Obama administration in tiresome legalese exposes Israel as an intransigent party for peace, jeopardizing one of the only international prestige assets it possesses — namely, the widespread perception that the Palestinians are more intransigent than the Israelis are."

This point you make cannot be stated enough. But the intentional fallacy used to support the natural growth argument equally exposes the intransigence of Israel. All of it can be summed up as fraud.

This piece was excellent. Anyone who has ever been on a diet can imagine how cruel this diet regime is. And everyone has been on a diet.

Any chance to get you to analyze stress positions, with diagrams, please? Did they use the banana position?

There is also this telling line from the Politico article:

"Obama pointedly reminded Cantor that he was the president — and that he reserves the right to disagree with whatever cuts the Republican whip recommends."

Self-serving much?

in State Department ‘Unaware’ of Zelikow’s Torture Dissent on The Washington Independent
Spencer, have a little patience. The Bush Administration's policy on FOIA was to assume that the documents did not have to be disclosed. The Obama Administration reversed that policy immediately.

But keep up your good work!

This is more embarrassing than the McCain/Palin rallies. Expect the GOP's poll numbers to go down further. This is what it means to be "Born Under a Bad Sign..."

NewHampshire It's this Obama creature who is more than embarassing. He doesn't seem to know that we are no longer under the rule of the Quee of England.
It's also embarrassing that liberals can't do math and think that spending and debt creates prosperity... or that handing our tax dollars to the foreign banker friends of Obama is going to be allowed to go on one minute longer, because it is NOT.

in U2 adds 'final' 2009 shows to record-smashing tour >> Tour dates and concert ticket info >> LiveDaily on LiveDaily News & Music
I thought Depeche Mode played the Rose Bowl in 1988 so I don't understand how U2 playing the Rose Bowl in 2009 is the largest concert performance in the historic venue.

livedailyrob Mary: Attendance at that Depeche show reportedly was 80,000-plus; U2's promoter is claiming 95,000 tix sold.

Brangelina is the new Bennifer. No one believes a word that Angelina Jolie says anymore. Furthermore, now that we know that her so-called charitable endeavors and outings with her children are mostly stunts to generate positive publicity for herself, bad motives will be attributed to Jolie for everything she does that draws attention to herself and her Q-rating should begin to sink.

That "maverick" label is so convenient isn't it? It basically allows McCain to do whatever he deems politically expendient and, instead of being called a corrupt politician, he is called a "maverick."
