in 10 Rules For Driving Traffic Using Forums on Josh Klein Web Strategy
Why hadn't anyone rated this post yet? It's excellent, especially because you give us, your readers, strong reasons to follow your advice instead of telling us to do as say just because. I've read many articles on driving traffic from forums, but none of them discussed forum traffic's quality as you did above. Great job!

joshklein That is so kind of you to say, Karen. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you'll comment again.

in Features of a blog worth caring about on Josh Klein Web Strategy
I'm about to launch a new blog for entrepreneurs and have already written the about pages. I'm happy that the pages' content meet the standards mentioned in your post. Validation is good for a blogger's ego. ;-)

On an unrelated note, I've read your post at Problogger and I support your views on Digg.

joshklein If I'm here for nothing else, it's to feed the collective ego of the blogosphere :) You'll have to tell me about this new entrepreneurship blog when it goes live!

Thank you very much for sharing this tip. This may be exactly what I need. I've been experiencing so many problems with web hosting companies lately... Now it seems all is not lost. :)

in Confidence Matters More Than Anything on Chris Brogan
"Are YOU confident? What are you tactics for feeling more confident? If you’re not very confident, how has that affected your days?"

Unfortunately, I'm not very confident. It affects many aspects of my life -- even my online projects. I often have (seemingly) good ideas, but I don't put them in practice because I'm afraid no one will be interested. However, I'm trying to overcome this problem. :)

in A Study of Trust Online on Marketing Pilgrim
"Who trusts advertising most? Filipinos and Brazilians (67%) were found to be the most trusting of all forms of advertising."

I had already expressed my skepticism about it by leaving a comment on the article Netizens Trust Each Other for Product Recommendations. Since this piece of (mis)information has been repeated here, I'll have to repeat my view on it as well. I'm from Brazil, and I can tell you in all honesty that Brazilians are *far* from trusting advertising in the way suggested by this study. Most of my compatriots actually make fun of ads in general.

It would be great to read a comment by a Filipino too.

Being from Brazil, I find this survey's results very strange. Most people over here actually tend to poke fun at ads. Of course there are those who'll trust advertising; still I doubt those high numbers.

in You Can’t Win, So Don’t Even Try on Jim Kukral
Good luck to your team! :)

Thanks a lot for posting this. It's just the sort of post most bloggers can relate to. Especially when some of the dominant fellows in our niches keep on telling us to give up because, in their views, no one is able to become as successful as they are, i.e. "Go look for another niche because this one is mine and you've got no chance against me!"

Thanks for sharing these links. I hadn't heard of Wikiblog yet. I'll certainly take a look at it.

I still believe Blogger to be a valid option. And I'm surprised that MovableType hasn't made it into your list.

in The Effects Of Digg on My Blog on Chris Brogan
Hi! :)

I've found your blog this weekend, and I have to say your 100 Blog Topics list is amazing. That article alone made me want to subscribe to your feed, and here I am... saying "hi", as you requested. ;)

As for this Digg experience of yours, it proves once again what's been said by many others: Digg users don't stick to a site, don't click on ads, don't subscribe... they just enter, take a quick look and go away (some will even say bad things about you later on). Unless a blogger is able to produce at least one weekly piece with real chances to make it to Digg's front page (therefore ensuring a consistent trafic flow), I'd say he/she shouldn't put too much effort in using that site as a promotion tool.

in If Blogrush Proves Anything It’s That Bloggers Are Desperate on Jim Kukral
Yeah, when people are desperate to get something they may not be able to stop and think a bit before proceeding. I confess I myself was just about to jump on the bandwagon, not only because many top bloggers endorsed BlogRush, but also because of John Reese, who I respect a lot (perhaps a bit too much, now that I think about it). All those A-list names together made me really impressed, and I forgot the meaning of "critical thinking" for a short while. Luckily, many bloggers kept their eyes wide open, and by reading their posts and/or comments I managed to see things more realistically.
