but the Diamond has VGA screen.....i'm so bored of QVGA you can see the ridges around icons and stuff....but i'm hearing alot that the Diamond is really slow.....man HTC had that video driver problem with the TYTN2 and now this with the next gen......

ok you have a point but i'm talking about upgrades we've had QVGA for so long....ok nokia don have to go straight to VGA but they could have at least gone up a step to half VGA screens...... 2.8 screen with QVGA is not really pretty, the icons look abit out of focus....the regular N95 menu looks shaper than the N95 8GB's but it works i have to agree that its not a total loss.....but they could have done something to the N96....

but you have to say that nokia have grown rapidly, your right Innovation is required and you got some great ideas there, it would be like your unlimited storage mp3 player and adding songs would never be a problem but nokia are zooming past rivals companies i mean every other day they got some interesting site like the mapsters or the ngage site or the hands free video thing and that open at your own risk thing and the open to anything....and you said your self that when nokia do something they do it pretty big (like the air lift crane thing for the wimax N810)

i agree that in every licensing product the owner should have the right and freedom to use that same subscription in any way he/she like as long as they are still bound in the deal weather it be the purchase code for a n-gage game or a years subscription to the music store if they buy a new handset they should be able to transfer the cide over to their new phone or like you said access their songs from even a comp and i'm sure that after the whole n-gage scene nokia created for no reason and the major negative feedback they got i'm sure they have learned this bigtime.....

Yea innovation brings about attraction and hype but what if the new concepts nokia implement in the music store actually inturn cause a down fall and as you said that alot of money is being pushed into this project maybe nokia just wanna get into the game first and become known to the people so their going with what people are used too, which is something like itunes i'd say thats a pretty safe move and once they are settled than they could start to add the new innovated features, nokia to me seem like they would take a blow to themselfs to try and provide more to the uers...i mean the N78 is more expensive than the N82? surely both the phones are effecting each others sales and look at symbian, nokia did take a plung when they decided to make smartphones and now look how far they have brought symbian...i'd say really far and i think their gonna take the whole thing over too

I agree with you man, S60 did bring the internet into our hands where ever we are and we are all greatfull for that but it really is time to move on i mean now that there are other mobile web browsers which can handle more things just fine (should i say iphone? i maybe i'll just give a opera example as the iphone seems hated around here...not that i'm a supporter i just don wanna favor anything) but my point is that when S60 did innovate internet we were like yea its ok for the finner details to be in the fix but now that its time to move on they have no excuse.....this is a good post man, it really should be addressed by nokia....Nice Zach

You know i don understand why people would wanna upgrade anyway? i was really impressed how nokia made the Nseries line up, how it evolved and i always though man they got lucky cause the 4 number system was kinda weird, but when they created the Eseries i was even more impressed when the E61 came, it felt great in hand and comfortable to use and it got a camera version too later on, meanwhile the nseries received the great N95 and after a few months the Eseries got its Flagship- the one that had it all the E90....now when the E90 hit, the N95 had become pretty settled and having GPS and 5MP with WIFI and 3G where common features and with the E90 featuring a 3.2mp auto focus cam and with the E65 getting it cam version due to popularity i got the impression the Business world also appreciated good multimedia functions like a good enough cam for those moments....and than the E51 came!! thats a great phone man....i gotta say Abul like you like the N82 (btwi do too ;) ) the was a good blend.....all in all the Eseries was looking great while the Nseries were awaiting the all amazing N95 8GB (i love it too :) !!) now the E65 was getting old even though its great even today but like the N95 its upgrade was due and when i heard that a New Qwerty Eseries was coming i had this feeling that Nokia were really gonna step it up.........but whats the diff in the New E71 and E65? OK looks better....Smaller and Slimmer at the expensive of Big screen? i was gonna go with MUCH Better Cam....Much as you've said the K800i's got better quality so what exactly is the point? unless your completey bored of the E65 and have used it to your max and hate its design and wanna get rid of it......to me for some reason it looks like the same difference between N95 8GB and N96.....the N96 has better looks.....More storage and the TV receiver....its gonna be expensive and the upgrades are not worth that much.....i got the same feeling with these two.....

Just Tell me one thing........what can the E71 do that the E65 can't? (besides no BB support which i don get why?)

I'm gonna go for N96 anyday, i've had the N95 8GB for a while, around 9 months and somehow i never felt like it was a major upgrade from my N73, i know it sounds weird in specs, yea 5mp, wifi and gps are amazing but i never got that wow this is something really cool feeling...well being totally honest when i activated voice navigation it was cool something new...but the difference when i went from 6670 to N73 it was pretty huge and ever sence the leak of the N96 i've been in love with the design and yea its one of those like or dislike at first looks but it looks slick! the new Nseries look is great, now the N85, man what the hell is this....yea its specs are cool but why don Nokia let the N96 hit the streets before throwing it in the basement......but its good for us customers!! i bet the N96's price will drop to a good level! thats exactly why i bought the N78 just a few days ago, it had such a majot price drop in a month, the second i saw it i just could't resist and bought it......but i'm still saving up for N96 and i'll chose it over N85....thats just me, nice post man this weird issue has to be discussed!

loll yea bro i know alot of people find the new Nseries look ugly but somehow i like them yea the Screen is bigger on N96 but to tell the truth i like the regular N95 screen better than my N95 8GB the reason being the icons kinda get blurred cause the res is the same and it kinda looks weird, 2.6 is a great size and with the OLED screen the colors and all would look pretty cool, s both phones are great but i'm still going for N96 loll maybe we're compare my N96 to your N85 someday hahaha........keep chillin man!!!

Man Mark thats the post people needed, i'm so eagly awaiting the N96 i just can't wait any longer, i've seen like a dozen hands on videos and pretty much imagined it in my hands! i love the new Nseries look, its so slick and i cound't wait any longer so i went out and bought the N78 just 3 days ago it had such a major price drop that i could't resist and i'm loving it! but i've still saved money for the N96, my plan was to enjoy the N78 mid level phone until the N96 was ready to shine, but today nokia realease the N85!! what is this man, some kind of a joke? its better than the N96 but!! i'm still going for the N96 :)! i think it looks better, i saw the hands on preview on Pascos and its so slick, so i'm still gonna go for the N96 i don care of smasnung have 8mp i'm still in love with the N96, after all its a N96 baby!!!!! oh yea and the N78's really slick too can't stop looking at it!! i knew the Battery was going to be ok, i bought a N95 8GB and before that i used a friends N95 for a few days and i really never noticed the difference in battery life, with noraml calling, a few messages and wifi, how about you mark, did you see a difference in 1200 and 950 on your N95's? i defentaly see a difference in my N78 and N95 8GB but i can't wait to get N96! nice post bro!! keep chillin man

Great post mark, people really wanna know the story behind the animations and settings, with the N78 everything is on by default, the animations and navi wheel.

A few more changes. the new Photos App, it can sort pcitures by pics you've taken from your phone, pics that you copied onto your phone, you can tag images and see them by a Month view...cool stuff and the video center on N78 is still the going round wheel where as on N96 and N85 its a list view.

The Gallery app is still there, however its not in the root of the menu by defult its in the Media folder, its still the same style excpt when you click on Pics it takes you to the Photos App and Videos it goes to Video Center.

And FP2 is really fast even with Animations, when the Animations are off its triple the speed of FP1 and this on N78 that only has 96mb on N85 and N96 its faster

if you play both together in sync daam man the N85 is so smooth....i wanted N96 to be better but in like every way Nokia has messed up the N96...but i'm still gonna get it, the colors and audio on N96 are way better though but the N85 smoothness kinda over powers it all.....for some reason it feels like N85 has more frames?? both are ment to be 30....but i read in like a million places the current fw for N96 is 15 fms....

Great write up mark, its interesting to see how the G1 works in for S60 users, the main attraction is no doubt the touch screen and open source part...going from symbian where their are great developers to a different platform you'd no doubt want to keep the open market part for flexibility but i guess Android is't all that cool, i don like its look...a little to old-ish. Can't wait for the Tube, thats gonna be great!

but i will take the guys side on slider, i never had probs with the slider on N95 8GB and i used it normally, same with N85... why do people complain so much.. yea it losen's up quite abit but not its exactly life treatening

on graphics card, their idio*ts .. implement a graphics card when hardly anyone uses it.. but when people actually realize its worth something.. they get rid of it???

What about N-gage. yea its crazy to believe you would ever need a graphics card for 3d games...

HAHAHA you should have just asked about the N-gage and no graphics card in every question..
