I truly admire you for being so honest and upfront about your experience. You need to blog on a regular basis. Just my 2 cents, of course. Btw, ServiceMagic rocks...have used them several times since moving to Denver and not knowing who to call when home repairs are needed.

Hmm. Ok, my two cents. Comments are awesome. They rock. Over the (almost) 4 years I've had my blog the comments I've received have inspired me, provoked me to consider other opinions, made me laugh out loud, have provided validation and have been a mode of recognition.

I guess you have to figure why you blog and what you want to get out of blogging. Only then will you have a concept of where comments fit into the whole mix.

I write my blog for me. While I follow stats, I don't change anything to get more readers or hits. With my blog, what you see is what you get. Just a normal (??) chick who's a liberal with purple hair that likes Alt music, anything Apple, my friends (many of who I have met thru my blog), dogs and sports. And blogs.

In closing, blogging is not rocket science. It's as difficult...or simple..as the blogger wants to make it.

One final thought. Maybe those of you that work in tech-related industries **may** take blogging a little more seriously than most since it may or may not reflect on your business persona. Just a last minute thought right before I hit submit.

ps- Micah, I found you thru comments on Andrew's site. So yay...rock on comments :-)

That looks great guys! Only 1 concern: it's not red! Oh well, I suppose I can live with the change.

And you didn't miss much at Ikea. As usual we arrived and were completely overwhelmed by the sheer size of the place. It took us about an hour to grab our desk and attempt our escape route, but managed to get lost again and horribly distressed and claustrophobic due to all the dirty people milling around us! Not pretty.

I felt exactly the same way. But it doesn't take long to lose that 'newby' feeling. And in time you'll be meeting others with less experience than you, and they'll be asking you questions and will be fascinated by your 'knowledgable' answers :) It's a fun process. Best thing I've ever done.

Because where you live it is allowed, it's really no big deal. I think the other guys get pissy because they can't carry where they live, so maybe they feel like you're showing off or something -- maybe? Who knows? Who cares?

Life gettin' you down? People annoying you a tad too much? Come to your blog for love and happiness -- well, kinda.

I'm teasing you, but if you had all these people in a room would you believe it? That they're all telling you to do what you want and nobody is giving you any crap about anything -- altho, there does seem to be a general opinion that they're not big gun nuts. That's interesting.

For me, if I had 50 some goshdarn people patting me on the back, I'd count myself as a darn lucky person.

OR -- were you just doing a contest for a Friday to see biggest number of comments?
